Job Brief

We are looking for a Senior QA engineer to join our team, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with a high calibre team to continuously develop new products/features.

What you'll do

  • This is a hands-on role and as a senior member of the QA team, you’ll help ensure the quality of Moneybox products, reporting into the Senior QA lead.
  • Seamlessly deliver numerous large and complex projects, acting as the sole QA on a squad, managing competing workstreams through effective prioritisation and time management.
  • Foster a "quality is everyone's responsibility" philosophy, influencing team members to prioritise risk-based testing over traditional ticket testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and Compliance to define testing and release strategies that effectively balance risk, speed, and quality.
  • Run engaging, cross-functional team meetings (e.g. amigos, go/no-go, incidents) that promote positive outcomes through effective coordination and issue prioritisation.
  • Advocate for the use of AI tools and agents throughout the testing lifecycle, driving efficiency while layering in human critical thinking to validate outcomes.
  • Assess features for test automation suitability, collaborating with engineers on various test types and working with the Automation team to build and promote stable end-to-end automation.
  • Be a visible leader and role model within the QA team, mentoring/coaching others and actively supporting departmental operations to promote learning and innovation across the function.
  • Represent Moneybox externally in the tech community, bringing fresh new ideas back to the team.

Who you are

  • You're enthusiastic about working in a fast-growing Fintech and dedicated to making a positive impact on personal wealth, with an interest in technology, AI and QA developments.
  • You possess an excellent understanding of testing techniques and can effectively coach and mentor your team on their application.
  • You're comfortable in multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with developers, and demonstrate effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • You have proven experience in designing and implementing comprehensive test plans and contributing to automation frameworks for complex cross-functional projects.
  • You exhibit effective organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach to bug reporting, understanding risk, impact, and dependencies.

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of broad QA experience, with a number of years in a Senior/Lead QA role, including a proven track record of fast-paced delivery.
  • Extensive backend testing skills and understanding of how to test complex logic, APIs, databases, migrations and 3rd party integrations, ideally related to payments or transactions.
  • Deep understanding of testing Mobile apps and Web technologies and the intricacies of each platform.
  • Broad experience with various automated testing techniques and a solid background in test data design and implementation strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging existing AI tools to promote testing efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership to build good relationships and foster quality as everyone’s responsibility.
