Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The role

As Senior Proposition Manager, you’ll help ensure our propositions continue to meet customer needs and deliver good outcomes as regulation and expectations evolve. Working across Customer Proposition and the wider business, you’ll turn complex regulatory and technical information into clear direction, strengthen our governance and provide constructive challenge to support well-informed decisions. You’ll have the opportunity to lead key activities, influence senior stakeholders and help shape propositions that balance customer, regulatory, operational and commercial priorities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with proposition teams and colleagues across the business to ensure our propositions meet customer needs, deliver good outcomes and support Standard Life’s objectives
  • Oversee proposition activity delivered by others, maintaining high standards of accuracy, messaging and governance while managing regulatory and operational risk
  • Balance the needs of customers, shareholders, employers and advisers, applying sound judgement where priorities or desired outcomes differ
  • Turn complex proposition, technical and regulatory information into clear, compelling recommendations for a range of internal and external audiences
  • Take a broad view across the proposition, considering customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, governance, operational impacts and commercial objectives
  • Lead and contribute to multiple activities, managing your own workload and coordinating others to deliver agreed regulatory and governance priorities
  • Provide constructive challenge, make well-reasoned decisions and recognise when to escalate or seek specialist input
  • Identify, assess and resolve regulatory, governance and proposition risks and issues, working with colleagues across Customer Proposition and the wider business

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in proposition development, regulation or governance within financial services or another regulated environment
  • An ability to interpret complex regulatory, technical or proposition information and translate it into clear implications and recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and build effective relationships across teams
  • A track record of managing competing priorities and taking ownership of work through to a clear, high-quality outcome
  • Sound judgement and a practical, customer-focused approach to identifying and managing risk, governance and delivery issues

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
