We are hiring a Senior Product Manager in Genetics. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the Genetics Data squad, responsible for creating a best-in-class Genetic Data product for research from conception to launch, and into a cycle of continuous improvement. You will bring a deep understanding of user needs, working alongside multidisciplinary teams of data engineers, data operations, scientists, designers and delivery experts to design, test, iterate and improve our data products.
Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.
Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people’s health. Researchers will be able to use this information to make new discoveries about human health and diseases. So future generations can live in good health for longer.
What you’ll be doing:
- Curating a world-leading resource for health research, ensuring that researchers can conduct groundbreaking work using genetic data at scale.
- Owning the vision, mission, strategy and roadmap for our genetics data products, aligned to the overall mission. Working with teams across the organisation to design, deliver and improve our genetics products, often having to balance competing priorities.
- Working in close collaboration with internal experts and external suppliers to deliver impactful outcomes and explore emerging opportunities while working at pace.
- Translate user insights into actionable product features that deliver maximum value. Keeping laser-focused on our specialist users, while remaining continually mindful of our business goals and wider mission to support early detection, prevention and treatment of disease via our research programme.
- Collaborating with and influencing stakeholders across the organisation, across a variety of seniority levels.
- Championing user needs and evidence-based decision making. Actively contributing to the growth of the wider product community.
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience working as a Product Manager, developing complex data products or services. You will have a solid understanding and experience of bioinformatics, in particular products and services associated with genomic data.
- Experience of coordinating cross-functional squads to achieve a shared goal, with a proven track record of delivering impactful results in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve strategic goals through effective roadmap planning and execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and aligning stakeholders at various levels. Including experience working with external suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and delivered.
- A tenacious and collaborative approach to problem-solving with the curiosity and intellect to explore ideas and opportunities and inspire others.
- Strong leadership capabilities, a focus on team development, conflict resolution, and fostering a collaborative culture.
- Ability to work in an environment of change - comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities and requirements.
- Experience working within platforms or products that process complex datasets. With an appreciation of compliance requirements in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience of bringing new products to market.
- Salary £70,000 - £80,000
