Actian is a leading provider of data management solutions, empowering businesses to harness the power of their data.

This role offers competitive compensation, including base salary and variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, location, and experience.

We are looking for a visionary Senior Product Manager to lead the next generation of Smart Data Products within our ecosystem. You will be at the forefront of a new way of interacting with data through reliable and trustworthy AI agents, providing innovative interactions between users and information. Using Actian's Data Intelligence Platform as our core platform, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategic vision and agile technical execution. You will not only manage a backlog but also co-create alongside engineering teams using AI-driven development workflows. This is a fully remote, senior individual contributor role with high strategic visibility.

What You’ll Do

    • Translate the CPTO's strategic vision into a concrete, scalable Data Product roadmap. You'll pair strong product instincts with data-informed decision making to deliver results.

    • Participate in the product lifecycle from discovery through launch, iteration, and adoption, including setting success metrics, prioritizing features, and ensuring high-quality execution.

    • Lead the full lifecycle of Data Products development, ensuring they are discoverable, trustworthy, and valuable within Actian's Data Intelligence Platform.

    • Oversee the development of AI agents that control data products, enabling conversational and proactive interactions for end-users.

    • Lead cross-functional squads in an agile environment, collaborating with Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure high-velocity and high-quality releases.

    • Champion the use of AI product development tooling to accelerate delivery and optimize product features.

    • Partner with Go-to-Market teams to position our Data Products value proposition, shape product messaging, and drive adoption among technical and executive audiences.

    • Navigate the complexity of corporate environments while maintaining the agility of a startup, managing expectations from C-level executives to end-users and clients.

Who You Are

    • 5+ years in Software Product Management, with specific focus on Data Products, Data Platforms, or AI/ML products.

    • Experience working as a product manager on open source technologies.

    • You have "survived and thrived" in both fast-paced startup environments and complex corporate structures. You know how to pivot quickly but also how to navigate decision-making processes in larger organizations.

    • Deep understanding of Data Governance, Data Catalogs, and the modern data stack.

    • Ability to debate strategic inputs and then dive into the concrete inputs for engineering at ground level.

    • Skilled at translating customer and stakeholder needs into innovative product features.

    • Track record of shipping enterprise-grade SaaS features from ideation through scale.

    • Able to balance short-term execution with long-term vision.

    • Customer-driven and passionate about customer success.

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Preferred qualifications

    • Prior work experience in the data management domain (e.g., data catalogs, databases, major CSPs, key data-oriented user personas and their use cases) is a plus.

    • At least 1 year owning zero-to-one or early-stage product launches.

This role sits within the Data Intelligence Product Team. Here are values we live by:

    • When the wind blows, build windmills not walls

    • If it isn't ruthless, it isn't prioritization

    • Do better, do faster
