We’re reinventing payments.
In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.
But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The role

We're on a mission to empower businesses to thrive and we're looking for a proactive and commercially-minded Product Counsel to act as a  key strategic partner to our Product teams, helping us build the future of the experience economy. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will have the chance to get involved in a variety of legal matters across the business. If you are relentless, customer-obsessed and ready to make a tangible impact, this is the role for you.

What you will do...

  • Act as a go-to legal partner for our Product and Engineering teams, embedding yourself in the development lifecycle to provide guidance on relevant regulation and legal requirements, ensuring a compliant and commercial go-to-market approach.

  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of contracts while also developing and scaling legal processes to help our teams move quickly.

  • Partner with Marketing and Communications teams, alongside the Compliance team, to ensure product messaging and promotional materials are compliant, clear and on-brand.

  • Work with the Risk and Customer Support teams to advise on any escalations and ad hoc queries.

  • Support the wider business by advising on a wide range of general commercial and regulatory matters as they arise, reflecting the collaborative and pragmatic nature of our legal team.

  • Stay ahead of the curve on legal and regulatory developments, translating them into actionable insights for the business.

What you will bring…

  • A qualified lawyer with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a private practice and/or in-house environment, preferably advising technology or financial services companies on product-related legal issues.

  • Experience in financial services regulation and a strong command of contract law.

  • A pragmatic, creative, and commercial approach to problem-solving, with the ability to provide clear, actionable advice in a fast-paced environment.

  • A natural collaborator with excellent people skills, capable of building strong relationships and influencing at all levels of the business.

  • A high degree of autonomy and a "get-it-done" mindset, with a readiness to hit the ground running and get stuck into the details.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
