A Day in the LifeIntegrated Health Solutions (IHS) team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines. They partner with hospital management teams and payers to drive complex transformational change, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and optimize operations.
As part of the Procurement and Supplier Management (PSM) team within IHS Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) you will focus primarily on the UK market, supporting the sourcing of medical products and services for IHS Managed Cath Labs and Theatres. In this role, you will manage strategic sourcing and deal with operational issues, working closely with the hospitals we support as well as a selection of IHS’s strategic suppliers, including those that directly compete with Medtronic in the medical device business. This is a remote role, based in the UK, with the ability to work from home and a willingness to travel (approximately 25%), typically in the London area but could also include international travel.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Manage stakeholder requirements and ensure that needs are consistently met. This includes ensuring on-time activation of new accounts, ensuring that IHS is able to procure our client’s preferred products, maintaining price lists)
  • Track and periodically share with stakeholders the KPI’s
  • Track and share savings initiatives and achievements
  • Negotiate, maintain and analyze pricing
  • Manage supplier relationships - ensure continuity of supply for our IHS Managed Services accounts
  • Identify savings initiatives that go beyond unit price reduction
  • Regularly interact with and visit clients to discuss clinical strategy and how materials management services can support the strategic direction of the department

 

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree requiring numerate skills, such as business, science or economics
  • High level of data analysis skills (including very strong Excel skills) as well as the ability to prepare effective data presentations (Power Point)
  • Contract management/sourcing experience, ideally in the healthcare sector
  • Previous work experience (at least few years) in a large or multinational company/ hospital (ideally in a Cath lab or Theatre environment) with strong focus on the data analysis in the procurement area
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills (in English) with the ability to liaise, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels
  • Project management and influencing to achieve results
