Senior Procurement Manager, HBW and Automated Logistics

Core Responsibilities

As Senior Procurement Manager, HBW and Automated Logistics, you will lead a strategically important procurement category that has expanded from High Bay Warehouse (HBW) into end-to-end automated logistics. The scope covers automation across material handling, HBW, processing and packing, with a rapidly growing project portfolio and a projected spend increase from more than 800M DKK in 2026 to approximately 1.4B DKK in 2027. To be more specific, you will:

  • Lead the global procurement strategy for HBW and end-to-end automated logistics, ensuring alignment with business priorities, factory expansion plans and long-term automation ambitions.
  • Act as a key business partner to our engineering teams,  Digital/IT and manufacturing stakeholders to drive strategic automation projects, including LVA and future factory initiatives.
  • Own and manage a rapidly growing spend portfolio, increasing from more than 800M DKK in 2026 to a projected 1.4B DKK in 2027, while delivering value, risk mitigation and supplier performance.
  • Build and execute long-term category and supplier strategies across automated logistics technologies, including HBW, AGVs, AS/RS, shuttle systems, conveyors, robotics, controls, software and related service models.
  • Foster innovation with the supply base and internal partners, identifying new technologies and supplier capabilities that can accelerate automation, improve resilience and enable future factory concepts.
  • Lead complex negotiations, supplier relationship management and executive-level engagement with strategic suppliers to secure capacity, performance, competitiveness and long-term partnership value.
  • Provide strong people and matrix leadership, including dotted-line leadership responsibilities, to align global and local procurement resources around the automated logistics agenda.
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making at Senior Manager and VP level, translating procurement insight into strategic choices on technology, capacity, risk, investment and supplier ecosystem development.
  • Strengthen business continuity, cyber, safety, operational resilience and supplier risk management across critical automated logistics platforms supporting our global factories.

This role will be based in Billund, you will join the Indirect Materials & Services Procurement organization. We span multiple spend areas across the enterprise and are responsible for strategic procurement in Construction, facilities, IT/Digital, professional services, travel, distribution and logistics.

The HBW and Automated Logistics category has evolved from a construction-related scope into a standalone, technology-enabled and strategically critical area. It plays a central role in delivering capacity expansion, automation, resilience and productivity across our global manufacturing network, with flagship projects and future factory programs requiring close collaboration with senior leaders across Procurement, MD&I, Digital/IT and Operations.

To be successful in this position, we imagine that you bring extensive strategic procurement leadership experience, strong business partnering capabilities and the ability to lead across functions in a complex global environment. Moreover, you have:

  • MUST: Proven track record of leading global procurement categories with high strategic importance, complexity and spend impact.
  • MUST: 10 years of leadership experience in a senior procurement, supply chain, engineering, automation or technology-enabled category role.
  • Experience with automated logistics, intralogistics, warehouse automation, material handling systems, capital equipment or complex project-based procurement.
  • Strong ability to partner with technical, operational and digital stakeholders, translating business needs into category strategies, supplier choices and value-creating execution plans.
  • Demonstrated experience managing strategic suppliers, supplier ecosystems and executive-level supplier relationships in complex, high-risk environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders at Senior Manager and VP level, including in matrixed organizations with dotted-line leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and ability to deliver business value across cost, capacity, innovation, resilience, risk and sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • A high degree of flexibility, as we work across time zones and countries and travel of up to 30–50 days a year could be expected.
