As a Senior Principal Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls' organization , you provide specialized expertise to influence the target state architecture and strategy. Work across teams to implement and advance the adoption of complex strategic global solutions that give JPMorgan Chase a competitive advantage.
Come join the newly formed Firmwide Technology Resiliency group that is part of the JPMorgan Chase Cybersecurity & Technology Controls' organization. The group is tasked with ensuring the firm's technology estate can maintain effective operations and support the ongoing, critical functioning of Essential Business Services in the face of today's evolving threat landscape.
In this role as an Executive Director - Senior Principal Architect (Data), you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that enables the business to sustain critical operations, through strengthening critical infrastructure and application resiliency. You will leverage your domain expertise to develop a data architecture strategy to deliver solutions that provide data lineage and the capability to generate scenarios to model technology resiliency and recovery risk.
Job responsibilities

  • Leads the design and implementation of a data strategy to deliver the vision for a resiliency risk model
  • Delivers high quality data architecture artefacts, usable by key stakeholders, that clearly explain the strategic solution and decisions behind them
  • Collaborates with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of the data strategy and construct requirements with a pragmatic delivery plan to achieve target state
  • Oversees required data integration and interoperability across various data sources and systems
  • Shares data architecture and information management industry best practises, identifying potential opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and how they could impact, augment, or support the strategic vision
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience
  • Experience of the following domains - data modelling, metadata management, data quality management, data governance, data warehouses and lakes, data integration, ETL processes and data visualization
  • Knowledge of microservice, event driven, cloud-based and Lambda & Kappa architectures
  • Proficiency in technologies including SQL, APIs, distributed event streaming, general-purpose programming languages, open-source analytics and query engines for big data
  • Prior experience influencing across engineering functions to deliver modern data architecture solutions
  • Proven ability to build strong, cohesive partnerships with key business & technology stakeholders and external vendor partners with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization
  • Strength in both business and technical requirements analysis to drive the delivery of projects from inception to implementation.
  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend the best technology solutions and approaches to achieve the future state architecture


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, or a related field with industry accreditation in one or more of the following - TOGAF, CSP Solution Architecture certification
  • Understanding of Data Mining techniques used in data science and data analytics
  • Fundamental understanding of data science methods including statistical and analytical techniques
