What will you be doing?

General Summary
The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the platform infrastructure that supports software applications, services, and internal tools. This role requires advanced expertise in cloud computing, automation, containerisation, scalability, and security, and focuses on creating a stable, scalable, and efficient environment for development teams. The Senior Platform Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that the platform architecture aligns with business needs and operational requirements

What will you bring?

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and reliable cloud platform infrastructure.
• Manage cloud services across compute, storage and networking, with a focus on performance, cost efficiency and resilience.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation to support effective provisioning and platform management.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable smoother, safer and more efficient software releases.
• Implement monitoring, logging and performance improvements to support operational excellence and customer experience.
• Work collaboratively with Development, Security, DevSecOps and Operations teams to deliver platform solutions aligned to business needs.
• Champion security best practice, access controls and compliance standards across cloud platforms.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting and continuous improvement to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and helping to build technical capability across the team.

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in platform engineering, DevOps, platform management or a similar IT engineering role.
• Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure at scale, ideally with Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Good knowledge of cloud services including compute, storage, networking, serverless architecture, virtualisation and containerisation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation and scripting tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps Services, Git, PowerShell, Bash or Python.
• Experience building or managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI or similar.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or the ELK stack.
• A strong understanding of security principles, compliance frameworks and DevOps practices in cloud environments.
• Clear communication skills, with the confidence to work across engineering, product, security and operations teams.
• A proactive, analytical and continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions for customers.
