DUTIES: Analyze complex engineering, scientific, and business data processing problems to architect and implement innovative solutions for enterprise-grade applications, system administration, and network infrastructure challenges. Provide thought leadership in performance engineering by establishing testing frameworks, defining best practices, and leveraging cutting-edge tools to simulate and optimize large-scale distributed environments. Lead cross-functional initiatives to align performance engineering efforts with strategic business goals. Design and implement advanced automated performance testing frameworks using JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools; develop custom scripts to simulate real-world scenarios at scale. Deliver actionable insights by analyzing test results and producing detailed reports on system, application, and network performance. Spearhead root cause analysis and continuous optimization efforts for complex production systems. Build and maintain robust CI/CD-integrated performance pipelines. Utilize expertise in Linux, shell scripting, SQL/NoSQL databases, and web protocols to streamline test execution and enhance observability. Drive performance monitoring strategy using platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or New Relic. Collaborate with DevOps, development, and product teams to drive performance-focused architecture and ensure scalability, availability, and reliability of mission-critical systems. Take ownership of the full software development and performance lifecycle from design to post-deployment analysis. Mentor junior engineers and advocate for performance engineering best practices across the organization
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master's degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in computer-related occupation. Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:
* Performance Test automation experience with JMeter, Load runner or Gatling;
* SQL and/or NoSQL databases including Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL;
* Web protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, REST, SOAP) and debugging tools such as Fiddler or Wireshark;
* Linux-based systems: advanced shell scripting, monitoring utilities (top, iostat, netstat);
* Performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana or Prometheus; and
* Cloud-based performance testing and monitoring on Azure, GCP technologies and infrastructure.
RATE OF PAY: $130,462 - $133,981/year
