Job Description

Senior Specialist, People Operations

Location: London, UK. (you will need to located with distance to our London office)

The Senior Specialist, People Operations is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant execution of employee lifecycle processes globally, with primary operational ownership across EMEA, including Spain, the UK, Lithuania, Romania and Israel.

This role acts as a key control point for data integrity, process consistency and audit readiness across Workday and related People systems. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Specialist manages complex cases, maintains operational standards, mitigates risk and drives process improvements. They will also use automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, strengthen service delivery and help the People Operations function scale effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Lifecycle Execution

  • Execute end-to-end employee lifecycle transactions, including hires, changes and terminations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and appropriate documentation in Workday
  • Maintain consistency and standardisation across lifecycle processes within EMEA
  • Independently manage complex and non-standard cases, including policy and system exceptions
  • Support employee mobility activity, including system transactions, documentation and process coordination in partnership with the Global Mobility team

Employee Data and Downstream Accuracy

  • Own the accuracy, completeness and integrity of employee data in Workday as the system of record
  • Ensure employee data impacting payroll, compensation, reporting and benefits is accurate, complete and timely
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies before they create downstream impact
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance and other stakeholders to investigate and resolve data-related issues
  • Execute and validate compensation-related transactions with strict adherence to process controls

Benefits and Policy Administration

  • Support regional benefits programmes in partnership with the Global Benefits COE and external vendors, ensuring accurate system configuration and data alignment in Workday
  • Execute People policies and procedures consistently across jurisdictions
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of labour laws and regulatory requirements across EMEA

Quality, Controls and Governance

  • Perform quality assurance checks on transactions and documentation to ensure adherence to defined standards
  • Act as a key control layer for People processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex operational matters and control-sensitive employee lifecycle transactions across the region
  • Support regional and global internal and external audits, including SOX, through accurate and well-maintained records
  • Identify systemic risks, control gaps and operational inconsistencies, driving corrective action and sustainable resolution

Process Improvement and Automation

  • Analyse recurring issues and implement scalable process enhancements
  • Drive workflow optimisation initiatives to reduce manual effort, improve throughput and strengthen service delivery
  • Leverage Workday functionality, automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy and user experience

Cross-Functional Partnership and Service Support

  • Partner with Global People and cross-functional teams to ensure coordinated execution of employee lifecycle activity
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee lifecycle queries, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate routing to specialist teams
  • Contribute to regional and global initiatives that improve People Operations scalability, effectiveness and consistency
  • Provide guidance and quality oversight across complex cases and regional processes

Qualifications

Experience and Expertise

  • 5–7 years’ experience in People Operations or HR Operations, with advanced hands-on experience in Workday transactions, data governance and reporting
  • Proven experience managing complex and exception-based employee lifecycle cases
  • Experience working in a controlled, audit-driven environment, with SOX exposure preferred
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes, automation or system optimisation, including the use of AI-enabled tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
  • Working knowledge of labour laws and compliance requirements across two or more EMEA countries, preferably Spain, the UK, Romania, Israel or Lithuania
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

  • Ability to execute effectively in high-volume, control-sensitive operational environments
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving, including knowing when to execute, escalate or route matters appropriately
  • Clear, concise communication and effective collaboration across cross-functional stakeholders
