We’re reinventing payments. In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year. But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The role

We are looking for a Senior People Partner, reporting to the Head of People Partnering, to act as a trusted advisor and coach for our Group Functions teams (Finance, People, Risk and Legal & Compliance). You will partner with leaders across these functions to build their capability and help them lead their teams through growth and change.
Your Goal? To ensure people are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll partner with business leaders and our centres of expertise to deliver People initiatives that support our scaling journey while fostering our unique culture.
At Dojo, we adopt a people-centric and iterative approach. We treat our internal teams with the same care as our customers, constantly listening to feedback and making improvements.

What you will do …

  • Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders, providing expert HR guidance to navigate growth, change, and complex employee relations cases with practical and fair solutions.
  • Drive organisational effectiveness by using people data to support workforce planning, diagnose problems, and advise on team structures and headcount.
  • Partner with our centres of expertise (Talent, Reward, PeopleOps, People Experience) to deliver key initiatives across the employee lifecycle, including performance, compensation, and leadership development.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion by helping to build a sense of belonging and ensuring DEI is deeply embedded in all people processes within your business areas.
  • Support people leaders and our Advisory team with more complex employee relations cases providing practical and flexible solutions whilst always ensuring a fair and consistent approach
  • Support and collaborate on key People team projects, contributing to wider cross-functional work streams and ad-hoc initiatives as needed.

What you will bring...

  • Experience in a strategic HR role, with a track record of partnering directly with senior-level management, ideally across non-tech teams . Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., FCA or CBI) is a distinct advantage.
  • A forward-thinking coach and relationship builder, confident in challenging the status quo and building strong, authentic partnerships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to design and deliver data-driven people plans that align with business goals.
  • Agility and comfort with ambiguity, thriving in a fast-paced scale-up environment where you can be hands-on and navigate change effectively.
  • A curious, collaborative, and proactive mindset with a positive "roll up your sleeves" attitude to get things done.
  • Strong HR expertise, ideally with relevant qualifications (such as a CIPD or degree) and experience in a fast-growing, international business.

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.

You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.

You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion at Dojo

From local bakeries to well-known eateries, Dojo payments serve over 150,000 places across the UK.

And something that’s fundamental to creating relevant, innovative products at Dojo is to build teams to reflect the diversity of the businesses we serve.

Our drive to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion is closely linked to helping employees thrive and innovating for better customer experiences.

If you care about your work, you’re curious, and you think customer-first, you have a place at Dojo.

To make sure you’re the best you can be throughout the recruitment process, let us know if you need any extra adjustments to help you thrive.
