Lead and develop an Operations team of paralegals and legal administrators, oversee workload allocation, ensure high-quality legal document preparation and proofreading, liaise with clients and solicitors, drive process improvements, support case management, and manage escalations to meet service targets.
About the role
The role of the Senior Paralegal is to lead the Operations team in the provision of support to fee earners across Private Client and Real Estate.
This role will manage Paralegals and Legal Administrators as the Team Leader, ensuring good quality and consistent support across the department whilst providing high-level support on more complex matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Paralegals and Legal Administrators, supporting their professional growth and ensuring appropriate levels of performance.
- Allocate and supervise work, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, team meetings and performance reviews in line with the Group framework.
- Act as the first point of contact for escalations and queries within the Operations team.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and service delivery.
- Support in preparation and drafting of legal documents.
- Attend client meetings with the Solicitor, taking meetings and noting relevant actions.
- Liaise with clients to provide support for any questions they may have or to follow up on any outstanding matters.
- Produce written correspondence to clients and third parties.
- Proofreading of legal documentation to ensure these are produced to a high standard.
- Assist in the preparation of case files, bundles and court documents where required.
- Reviewing documentation upon receipt for correct execution.
- Deal with any registration requirements.
- Conduct legal research and summarise findings.
- Support with the onboarding of clients, both internal and external.
- Maintain, update and support the development of our case management system.
- Ensure support of OLA/SLA targets throughout the workflow process.

Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience in a Paralegal role
- Excellent understanding of legal procedures, documentation and terminology
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Committed to excellent client care and an enthusiasm for legal work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confident in liaising with clients directly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage complex workloads while leading a team effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive.
Desirable criteria
- Educated to degree level or a relevant qualification
- Experience in supporting Private Client and/or Real Estate legal services
- Familiarity with legal case management systems.
