A major focus will be ensuring we use our people and resources effectively across the business, balancing workloads between teams, improving chargeable utilisation and supporting successful project delivery.

You’ll also act as the primary operational escalation point, making decisions, resolving challenges and driving improvements without needing day-to-day direction.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and support Operations Managers across our UK Survey & Digital Engineering teams.
  • Take ownership of resource planning and utilisation, balancing workloads across teams to maximise capacity and productivity.
  • Oversee operational performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards.
  • Drive strong commercial and financial performance, including revenue, margins, forecasting and project profitability.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for operational and client issues, taking ownership of resolutions and recovery plans.
  • Work closely with Sales and Finance to align project pipeline, resources and future capacity requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, efficiency and consistency across teams.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement, while supporting the development and retention of our people.

What You Will Bring

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a senior operations or management position.
  • Strong experience managing resources and utilisation across multiple teams or departments.
  • Good commercial and financial understanding, including budgets, forecasting, WIP and project profitability.
  • Experience overseeing project delivery and resolving operational and client challenges.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills.
  • An understanding of health, safety, quality and technical standards.
  • A degree or relevant professional experience within surveying, engineering, construction or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • The ability to travel to UK offices, project sites and client locations when required.
  • The right to work in the UK and fluent English language skills.

Benefits You Will Love

At Murphy Geospatial – A Woolpert Company, you’ll join a collaborative and innovative team where your expertise makes a real impact. Our benefits include:

  • Competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package aligned to your experience
  • Access to cutting‑edge geospatial technology and industry‑leading tools
  • Flexible working options designed to support work–life balance
  • Enhanced wellbeing support, including employee assistance initiatives
  • Opportunities within a growing, globally connected organisation through our partnership with Woolpert
  • Earn the opportunity to become an owner of the firm.
  • Performance‑related bonus scheme that rewards your contribution
