What's Exciting About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the migration of critical applications from our Cisco-based on-premises data center infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a high-impact contract role offering the opportunity to design, implement, and optimize cloud networking solutions while ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planning, design, and execution of network infrastructure migration from on-premises Cisco-based systems to AWS cloud environment
  • Map existing Cisco network configurations to AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, NACLs, etc.)
  • Develop and document comprehensive network architecture designs for AWS, including VPC configuration, routing, security groups, and network segmentation
  • Configure and optimize AWS networking components including subnets, route tables, load balancers, and network interfaces
  • Design and implement network security best practices including encryption, firewalls, DDoS protection, and compliance requirements
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to validate network performance, redundancy, and failover capabilities
  • Identify and resolve network issues, optimize performance, and ensure reliability post-migration
  • Create detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for the new AWS network Infrastructure
  • Work closely with cloud architects, application teams, security, and infrastructure teams to align migration strategy
Skills and Experience We're Looking For
  • MS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.
  • Juniper, Cisco Professional or Expert certifications desired
  • Minimum of 8-10+ years of network experience in configuring, managing and troubleshooting of Cisco
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network security protocols
  • Strong BGP / OSPF protocols understanding, configuration and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of IPsec and SSL VPNs
  • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls and Cisco Nexus switches
  • Experience with common network automation tools: Python, Perl or other scripting languages and tools i.e Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins
  • Experience with AWS network and migrations from on-prem to AWS
