IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.

The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.

Join us at IG – the future gets built here.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key role in building and enhancing the infrastructure that powers our fast-growing retail brokerage business, while also supporting a variety of other business initiatives. We are passionate about maintaining the speed, stability, and performance of our back-end systems, which directly impacts the experience of our client-facing applications. Our architecture is constantly evolving to meet new technical challenges, but always with a focus on practicality, performance, and scalability.

Our engineers have access to a wide range of tools and technologies, offering the opportunity to tackle diverse problems while honing expertise in specific areas. We are looking for self-motivated, engineering-driven professionals who are pragmatic, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in creating and operating large-scale, highly available, high-performance systems. With a lean team and a management philosophy that values autonomy, you’ll have the freedom to shape impactful solutions.
In this role, you'll ensure the reliability and efficiency of IG’s network infrastructure by staying ahead of evolving networking technologies, proactively identifying potential issues, and leading multiple tasks and projects. Our goal is to maintain the most stable, performant network possible to deliver the best experience for our customers.
This position is based in our London headquarters.

  •  Partner closely with the development team to deliver enhanced services and features that drive value for our customers.
  •  Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of learning, growth, and technical excellence within the team.

Skills & Qualifications:
  •  10+ years of experience in a Senior Network Engineering role, with demonstrable expertise in managing medium to large-scale network infrastructures.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing and switching concepts, with hands-on experience in managing complex network environments.
  •  In-depth understanding of the TCP/IP stack and experience with a broad range of networking hardware and software, including Switches, Routers, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, and Linux.

     •  Strong working knowledge of enterprise DNS platforms (e.g. Infoblox), including DNS architecture, DHCP/IPAM integration, and DNS security (RPZ/DFP).

  •  Proven hands-on experience with Arista Campus and Data Centre platforms, including AGNI (network access control/policy) and CVaaS for network telemetry and lifecycle management.

  •  Familiarity with F5 platforms (LTM/AFM) is advantageous, to support continuity of existing application delivery infrastructure.
  •  Ability to respond quickly and effectively to high-pressure incidents, maintaining composure while troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  •  Demonstrated ownership and commitment to continuously improving network infrastructure, constantly striving to achieve higher levels of reliability, security, and performance.
