Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to take strategic and operational ownership of audience marketing for a dedicated portfolio of renewable energy events and conferences. You'll lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that drive delegate acquisition and revenue growth across your portfolio. Using customer insights, segmentation, and data analysis, you'll design and implement integrated campaigns across multiple touchpoints and channels, using automation, digital tools, and smart marketing approaches with strong messaging and customer-centric strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Strategy & Revenue Management

  • Own the marketing strategy and execution for a dedicated portfolio of renewable energy conferences
  • Set clear marketing objectives aligned with revenue targets and business goals
  • Develop and manage revenue forecasts, pacing models, and conversion funnels
  • Monitor and optimise marketing spend to maximise revenue generation and profitability

Stakeholder & Partner Management

  • Manage senior stakeholders and present strategic updates on growth, performance, and revenue generation
  • Build and maintain relationships with media partners and industry associations
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align marketing and revenue objectives

Campaign Execution & Performance

  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns using email, social, paid media, content, and digital platforms
  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging strategies that resonate with target audiences
  • Design and implement lead journey flows and nurture programmes that guide prospects through the buyer journey
  • Implement marketing automation and digital tools via multi-touch models and multiple channels
  • Oversee event website optimisation, registration processes, and onsite marketing activities
  • Set clear campaign objectives with measurable KPIs aligned to revenue targets
  • Monitor performance in real-time, maximise ROI, and report on key metrics including pacing, conversion, and revenue
  • Manage marketing budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation across the portfolio

Data Analysis, Segmentation & Reporting

  • Analyse customer data to identify trends and opportunities for conversion optimisation
  • Design and implement segmentation strategies using CRM and marketing automation platforms
  • Track key performance metrics including conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and ROI
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and pacing reports with clear analysis of performance drivers
  • Provide strategic insights through regular reporting on customer behaviour and campaign performance
  • Conduct post-campaign analysis to extract learnings and inform future strategy

Customer Understanding & Journey Mapping

  • Map customer journeys and identify key touchpoints and conversion opportunities
  • Build customer profiles and personas based on behavioural and demographic data
  • Understand client motivations and decision-making processes throughout the buying cycle
  • Create targeted messaging and value propositions for each customer segment
  • Implement progressive profiling strategies to enrich lead data throughout the customer journey

Innovation & Collaboration

  • Pilot emerging channels and implement retention and acquisition strategies
  • Champion new methodologies and leverage marketing technology for optimisation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define campaign goals and ensure alignment
  • Drive best practice across marketing activities and share insights with the wider marketing team

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
  • Strong background in B2B events marketing with a proven track record of developing and executing successful delegate acquisition strategies with demonstrable revenue results.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive marketing decisions and journey optimisation
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms (Excel, CRM systems, analytics platforms)
  • CRM experience with data segmentation and analysis capabilities
  • Experience in customer profiling, persona development, and translating customer insights into effective marketing strategies
  • Experience setting and achieving revenue targets and marketing objectives
  • Understanding of marketing metrics, KPIs, lead scoring, and attribution models
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on campaign execution expertise
  • Proven stakeholder management experience
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

Desirable

  • Marketing automation platforms experience (Eloqua desirable)
  • SEO/SEM and paid channel expertise
  • Digital marketing capabilities, analytics (Google Analytics), paid ads, and marketing attribution models
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • SQL or database query experience for customer data analysis and advanced segmentation
  • Content marketing experience and ability to advocate for content-led strategies
  • Experience in the renewable energy or sustainability sector
  • Knowledge of lead scoring methodologies and predictive analytics

  • Design and implement effective lead journey flows that improve conversion rates
  • Achieve and exceed KPIs for registration, conversion, engagement, and ROI across all events in your portfolio
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and pacing reports with clear analysis of performance drivers
  • Provide strategic insights through reporting on customer behaviour, campaign performance, and revenue generation
  • Implement segmentation strategies that improve targeting efficiency and conversion rates
  • Develop compelling positioning and messaging that differentiates events and resonates with target audiences
  • Optimise customer acquisition costs whilst maintaining or improving lead quality and conversion rates
  • Champion best practice in data-driven marketing and share actionable insights with the wider marketing team
