Role: Senior Marketing Executive

Location: London, UK

Job type: Full time, Permanent – Hybrid

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between working from home and our office. Typically, employees are expected to work 2 days in the office per week.

Why QS?

At QS, we believe that work should empower you. That’s why we foster a flexible working environment that encourages every employee to own their career whilst thriving personally and professionally. Our company values underpin everything we do – we collaborate, respect and support each other.

It’s our mission to empower motivated people around the world to fulfil their potential through higher education, ensuring that everyone has access to opportunities that change lives.

Our diversity makes us stronger. By sharing our experiences, we learn from one another and achieve more together, driving progress across the sector.

At QS, you’ll be responsible for implementing real change in the international higher education landscape. You’ll take on meaningful challenges that see a positive impact across the business and the wider sector.

We’re confident you’ll feel right at home here. QS was named as one of Newsweek’s Top 100 Most Loved Workplaces® in the UK (October 2023) – recognition of the respect, trust and appreciation that drive our culture every day and as a gold-accredited Investors in People organisation – putting us among the top 28% of workplaces globally – it’s official: QS is a place where everyone can thrive.

As a Senior Marketing Executive, this is what you’ll be doing:

At QS, you will turn audience insight into timely, useful communications for 13 conferences and summits and our publication portfolio, including Midweek Brief, QS NewsBites and QS Insights Magazine.

You will connect strategy with delivery: building emails and audience segments in HubSpot, creating dashboards, briefing creative and paid-media activity, and coordinating colleagues across Content, Social, PPC, Creative, Events and Delegate Sales.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys moving between strategic campaign planning and detailed execution. Your work will help the right audiences discover QS B2B conferences and content, strengthen registration and engagement, and give teams clear evidence for better decisions - supporting our mission to help people fulfil their potential through higher education.

Role responsibilities:

You will take ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Campaign ownership: Own integrated marketing planning and delivery across 13 conferences and summits and recurring publications, balancing portfolio priorities, registration goals and audience needs.
  • Email marketing: Plan, build, schedule, test and optimise responsive emails in HubSpot, including personalisation, links, mobile rendering, accessibility, consent and deliverability checks.
  • Audience segmentation: Build reusable active and static lists using combinations of contact and company data, interests, geography, job role and seniority, lifecycle, event history, form activity, page and email engagement, and recency; apply exclusions and suppression rules accurately.
  • Dashboards and insight: Create and maintain HubSpot dashboards and reports covering email, audience growth, registrations and sources, website and landing-page conversion, PPC, cost per lead or registration, and campaign readiness; turn findings into clear recommendations and tests.
  • Creative and content briefing: Develop clear, original briefs for Content, Creative, Social and PPC, defining the objective, audience insight, proposition, message hierarchy, deliverables, specifications, call to action, timings and success measures.
  • PPC and channel coordination: Partner with paid-media and social specialists on targeting, messaging, creative, landing pages and UTM tracking; review performance and recommend practical improvements.
  • Event and delegate communications: Manage event communications across Cvent or similar platforms, event apps, websites and email journeys, including launch, speaker and sponsor, visa, venue, weeks-to-go, survey and post-event activity.
  • CRM and audience growth: Maintain data hygiene, list quality, audience growth and enrichment, and use survey and engagement data to support retention, future-event marketing and ROI reporting.
  • Hands-on delivery: Complete detailed operational tasks such as email assembly, list building, link checks, tracker updates, asset follow-up, folder administration and reporting while contributing to campaign strategy.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Work closely with Content, Social, PPC, Creative, Events and Sales teams to coordinate assets, approvals, deadlines and readiness; identify risks early and solve problems constructively.
  • Responsible AI use: Form an independent point of view and a sound brief before using ChatGPT or other generative AI; use AI to accelerate ideation, drafting, analysis and QA while challenging outputs, verifying facts and logic, protecting data and retaining final accountability.
    • Any other duties that fall within the purpose and scope of the role.

    Key skills and experience

We welcome applicants from different professional, educational and career pathways. What matters most is clear evidence that you can apply the following skills:

    • Strong hands-on HubSpot capability, including the email builder, forms, properties, active and static lists, multi-field segmentation, exclusions and suppressions, dashboards and reporting.
    • Proven ability to build and quality-assure responsive, personalised emails and diagnose deliverability, engagement and conversion issues.
    • Ability to translate complex audience criteria and contact behaviours into clear, accurate segment logic, including consent and suppression requirements.
    • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills: you frame problems, test assumptions, interpret incomplete or conflicting information, explain trade-offs and recommend evidence-based action.
    • Ability to develop useful creative and campaign briefs independently, combined with an innovative and practical approach to problem solving.
    • Confident, responsible use of ChatGPT or comparable generative AI, with disciplined prompting, verification, iteration, privacy judgement and ownership of the final output.
    • Working knowledge of integrated digital marketing, including email, PPC, social, landing pages, conversion metrics and UTM tracking.

    Useful, but not essential

    • Experience marketing to higher-education audiences, institutions or sector partners.
    • Experience with conferences or summits, delegate communications, Cvent or event apps, publications or newsletters.
