About Interpath

Joining Interpath Advisory means joining a dynamic and talented team of exceptional professionals who bring innovative thinking, commercial insight, and a natural curiosity to the work they do every day. With no two days the same, we are looking for people who are excited by the opportunity to help shape a growing global business and deliver outstanding outcomes for clients.

No one type of person succeeds at Interpath. A diverse business requires a range of personalities, perspectives, and experiences, strong teamwork, and a passion for client success. There really is a place for you here.

Our Tax Services team is looking for an experienced Tax Senior Manager to lead and grow our UK Corporate Tax and Transaction Tax. The role will involve advising clients on complex tax matters, leading high-profile transaction engagements, developing long-term client relationships, and driving business development initiatives across the practice. The successful candidate will work closely with Managing Directors and senior stakeholders to support the continued growth of Interpath's Tax Services business.

Free from audit conflicts, our tax practice benefits from Interpath's expanding client base and market reach. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, corporate groups, companies in distress / insolvent private equity-backed companies and large multinational organisations.

This is a leadership role offering significant responsibility for client delivery, team development, revenue generation, and the strategic growth of the Tax Services practice.

Key Accountabilities

As a Senior Tax Manager you will lead engagements rather than simply run them. You will own a portfolio of clients and engagements end to end: scoping and pricing them, planning them backwards from the deadline, resourcing them at the right grade, owning both the quality of the output and the financial result, and being the client's senior point of contact throughout.

You will act as Engagement Leader on your own portfolio, review the work of Managers, Senior Associates and below, and perform the final review before sign off from Managing Directors on more complex advisory and transaction work. You will also take a leading part in developing the team's technical strength and in winning new work.

The role covers corporate tax advisory, transaction tax with restructuring tax exposure across the wider practice.

·       Lead corporate tax, transaction tax and restructuring tax engagements for a diverse client base.

·       Advise clients on complex tax matters, transactions, reorganisations and restructurings.

·       Lead tax due diligence and transaction structuring projects.

·       Manage client engagements from scoping through to delivery, ensuring quality and commercial performance.

·       Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional work.

·       Support business development through networking, proposals and thought leadership.

·       Collaborate across Tax, Restructuring, Debt Advisory and Transaction Services teams.

·       Coach and develop junior team members while fostering an inclusive culture.

·       Use AI and data tools where appropriate to enhance efficiency and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead the delivery of tax advisory engagements, ensuring high-quality advice and timely completion.

·       Act as Engagement Leader and review work prepared by junior team members.

·       Provide practical and commercially focused advice on UK corporate tax matters.

·       Manage engagement planning, resourcing, budgets, WIP, billing and cash collection.

·       Oversee client onboarding, risk assessments, AML requirements and quality procedures.

·       Build client and intermediary relationships and support business development activities.

·       Coach, mentor and develop junior colleagues and support recruitment and training initiatives.

·       Foster collaboration, inclusion and knowledge sharing across the team.

·       Use AI and data tools to improve research, drafting, review and project delivery.

Requirements

  • CTA and/or ACA qualified, or equivalent (including legally qualified candidates with relevant tax experience).
  • At least four years' post-qualification experience in UK corporation tax gained in practice or a comparable in-house environment.
  • A strong grounding in the core corporate tax regimes and the confidence to research, form and document a view by reference to the primary legislation.
  • A track record of running a portfolio of engagements end to end, including scoping, pricing, budgeting, resourcing and delivery to deadline, and accountability for their financial performance.
  • Experience of reviewing the work of Managers and below, and a demonstrable record of developing and retaining junior colleagues.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a proportionate approach to risk.
  • Evidence of winning work: origination, pitching, or growing an existing client relationship into new mandates.

Desirable

  • Transaction experience: tax due diligence, structuring and SPA tax input and / or advising on financial restructurings and distressed situations.
  • Exposure to group relief and loss planning / corporate interest restriction / loan relationships / transfer pricing / international tax.
  • An established network in the London market, with relationships that can be converted into referrals.
