Purpose of the role

This is a new role within the Group Sustainability Team. It will be a critical role that plays a central role in delivering LSEG’s sustainability governance objectives, with specific responsibility for sustainability regulation, due diligence, third-party risk management and related compliance activities. The role will work with autonomy developing robust stakeholder relationships with Legal & Compliance, Procurement, Sales, Investor Relations and Operations to ensure sustainability related obligations are understood, embedded and effectively managed.

What You'll be doing

Sustainability Regulation: Lead Sustainability Regulation Workflow, working with external adviser on horizon scanning, and key role in applicability and impact assessment, maintaining legal register and monitoring compliance with applicable regulation.

Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD): Lead (multi-year) regulatory transformation programme to ensure LSEG compliance with CSDDD; lead on implementation and ongoing execution of required due diligence activities once embedded

M&A: Lead on sustainability due diligence on prospective acquisitions and coordinate the integration of acquired firms within LSEG’s sustainability management framework, escalating to Director of Sustainability Governance where appropriate.

Third party risk management (TPRM): Sustainability team lead for LSEG’s TPRM process, responsible for ensuring process is effective and for assessing and managing third party sustainability risks flagged by the process associated with customers, suppliers or partners

Customer due diligence: Respond to incoming customer due diligence enquiries as part of RFPs, routine inquiries and Scope 3 apportionment 

Contractual requirements: Work with relevant internal teams to identify sustainability related requirements in customer contracts and ensure compliance. 

Suppliers: Key contact with Procurement on supplier due diligence, supplier engagement and Supplier Code of Conduct compliance

Investor: Support with investor engagement including responding to shareholder inquiries, preparation for investor meetings

What You'll bring

  • Robust understanding of sustainability regulation applicable to a FTSE100 UK headquartered firm operating internationally.

  • Practical experience of managing sustainability due diligence programmes for a large, listed company

  • Experience of working in a large publicly listed organisation, financial sector experience an advantage

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills to form effective relationships with Legal & Compliance, Finance, Sales & Account Management, Procurement, Investor Relations, and Operations. 

  • Attention to detail, commitment to excellence
