We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic Finance and FP&A to join our team in London, UK 

The Capital Allocation & Business Control (CABC) team plays a critical role at Liberty Global, overseeing capital allocation, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and liquidity management, while also supporting broader strategic finance initiatives.

Job Purpose

The role of Senior Manager, Capital Allocation & Business Control, combines elements of recurring business monitoring (e.g. budgeting and forecasting) and evolving strategic work. This role will primarily focus on providing regular insights to the executive leadership team and Board of Directors that explain the performance and outlook of the portfolio, enabling value creation and optimal capital allocation across Liberty Global’s portfolio.

This role also includes work on varying transformative and strategic initiatives, requiring ad hoc analysis and modelling to support value creation throughout the portfolio. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, a focus on value creation, and the ability to develop strong cross-functional working relationships across Liberty Global and its portfolio companies.

Key Accountabilities

Drive key management reporting to the Board, ELT, CEO, FLT and CFO. Manage the budgeting and long-range planning process for our operating companies. Collaborate with operating companies to ensure timely, accurate and consistent reporting. Review, analyse and provide feedback on operating companies’ budgets and long-range plans. Work cross-functional to challenge business plans and ensure key inputs from such as Tax, Working Capital and Accounting treatments are confirmed by the relevant subject-matter experts. Collaborate with Strategy, M&A, Tax, Treasury, and other teams on strategic ad hoc projects, building detailed financial models to analyse transaction impacts and perform scenario and sensitivity analysis in the context of M&A, macro events, and competitive developments. Preferred education/ qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent.
  • Professional qualification (CPA, CFA, ACA or equivalent) is a plus.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Relevant years of accounting/finance experience, preferably with 1+ years directly related to the responsibilities herein.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, business case development, modelling and project coordination.
  • Prior exposure to Investment Banking, Private Equity, Consulting or Big Four Accounting is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in international or pan-European environments.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Flexible, hands-on, team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Self-starter with an ability to run projects and workstreams autonomously with limited support.
  • Ability to manage several varying workstreams and deliverables across various stakeholders and timelines.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the company.
  • Ability to be supportive, consultative and collaborative, and to work effectively across national boundaries.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex system terminology into business language and vice versa.
  • Experience working with financial systems specifically OneStream or other EPM/ CPM tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to scrutinise financial statements, business plans and forecasts, combined with varying market considerations and external factors, to support financial due diligence efforts.
  • Strong background in accounting data analytics and Excel modelling.
  • Growth mindset including a focus on continuous improvement across personal development and team process optimisation.
  • Experience using AI to elevate the impact of financial analysis or process improvement.
  • Financially astute, delivering innovation in a cost-focused environment.
