Department Overview:

The Future Technology Group (FTG) are PlayStation's technology experts. We research and develop innovative technologies that push the boundaries of play, helping game developers make the best games on PlayStation. Within FTG is the SIE Connected Content Group, based in London, whose function is future feature prototype exploration & validation.

Role Overview:

SIE's Connected Content Group has a broad and deep range of skills including game development, cloud technology development, rendering & distributed systems research and platform publishing expertise. As a Senior Manager your primary focus will be on people and stakeholder management. While a solid understanding of technology is important, your primary responsibility will be to lead, inspire and support a team of talented individuals, ensuring their success and fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, collaboration and growth.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and manage a team of managers, researchers and engineers, providing guidance, mentorship and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management & engineering, to define and drive research and execution roadmaps.
  • Establish and encourage a culture of innovation, curiosity, and continuous learning.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment, where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align CCG's efforts with the overall organisational objectives and long-term vision.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and advancements in gaming technologies and provide insights and recommendations to drive innovation.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate with external partners, research institutions, and academia to utilise the latest advancements in our explorations.

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team of researchers or developers.
  • Solid understanding of technology with the demonstrable ability to effectively and clearly communicate and bridge gaps in understanding among a wide range of varying stakeholder skillsets
  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science, software engineering, business management or a related field is desirable.
