The Senior Manager – Market and Business Intelligence will be instrumental for shaping our long-term, ambitious growth strategy. The role will provide critical market and business intelligence, working as an integral part of our commercial organization to support our success in key markets for energy storage, and support efforts to expand the market for energy storage into new geographies and customer verticals.

This will require you to develop a deep understanding of electricity markets, customers, technical and commercial product requirements, as well as opportunities and entry barriers to help develop and shape our medium-term sales and product strategy. You will be leading the operations and development of critical market intelligence tools and databases as part of the regional Strategy, Growth and Marketing team. Through this you will enhance decision making, shape commercial strategy, accelerate market development, and integrate with our product, supply chain and digital functions. The energy storage industry is highly dynamic – this role will be crucial to meeting the needs of our customers today and in the future.


This role will:

· Develop forward looking market forecasts and business case analysis to support decision making across the organization – procurement, product, sales, etc.

· Develop common tools to research, analyze and interpret market developments, providing critical business intelligence informing and shaping our commercial, product and digital strategy.

· Collaborate with sales, product, digital, services and execution teams to define market and customer segmentation, inform go-to-market strategies, and defining product vision, positioning, pricing, and promotion.

· Lead competitiveness workstreams across the EMEA region, building in-depth databases, competitive benchmarks and price-to-win analyses.

· Develop and implement advanced data analysis and visualization tools to automate and improve usability of market intelligence in the EMEA region.

· Lead regular efforts to integrate market knowledge, strategic insight and a strong customer focus to help our organization expand into new verticals, new geographies and create great products to serve the EMEA region.

· Develop market intelligence function in the EMEA region

· Proactively develop thought leadership content and working with marketing to position Fluence.

 

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

· The preferred candidate should have a postgraduate degree, MBA or PHD.

· At least 7 years of experience in the energy or clean tech sectors with a proven aptitude for driving strategic efforts and translating data into actions.

· Experience in market research either in an in-house or consulting function.

· Deep knowledge in wholesale electricity markets, clean tech supply chains, market participants and with a strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks across EMEA – with a proven ability to translate this into actions for Fluence.

· Strong analytic skills with an ability to contextualize knowledge.

· Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to create compelling arguments and communicating them to audiences composed of technical, commercial, and regulatory backgrounds

· Ability to quickly grasp complex problems and propose / enact solutions on their own accord.

· Possess an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude. Exhibit a forward leaning posture, high ownership, and diligent pursuit of new opportunities.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Demonstrated business judgement and individual initiative. The ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Strong skills in MS Office Suite, (power) modelling software, and data visualization tools.

· English required, additional European languages a plus.
