You will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and Data Engineering, managing a team of 4-5 people by the end of the year. You will be responsible for the performance, development, and operational effectiveness of the team, ensuring that resources are directed toward the highest-value commercial, product, and technical priorities.

Over the next year, the team will support the launch of three to five new markets and lead the migration of two international businesses onto our shared data infrastructure, including migrations from Databricks and Redshift to GCP.

This is a senior leadership role requiring strong organisational judgement, technical credibility, and the ability to operate across strategy, delivery, people leadership, and platform transformation.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop the UK data team across Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Science.
  • Set the direction, priorities, and operating model for the team, ensuring resources are aligned to the highest-value strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with UK Product, Commercial, Analytics, and Operations leaders to shape and deliver the international data roadmap.
  • Work with Data and Technology leaders globally to build a consistent, scalable, and internationally aligned data platform.
  • Lead the data strategy and execution required to support the launch of new markets and new brands.
  • Oversee the migration of international data platforms onto shared GCP infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership and sound architectural judgement across data, ML, and platform decisions.
  • Build a high-performing, accountable team with clear ownership, strong standards, and sustainable delivery practices.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience across data engineering, machine learning, data science or platform engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or leading a modern data platform.
  • A strong technical background, ideally in data engineering, machine learning engineering, or platform engineering.
  • Strong commercial and product judgement, with the ability to connect technical investment to business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to prioritise effectively, manage competing demands, and create clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
  • Ideally have experience leading complex platform migrations, international expansion, or large-scale technology transformations.

At Eucalyptus, we value individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and we embrace the unique qualities each person brings.
