We’re looking for a Senior Manager to join our Credit Insights team at NewDay. You’ll lead a small team of analysts, working cross-functionally with Credit Risk, Finance, Commercial and Operations. You’ll shape portfolio monitoring, forecasting, asset quality and management information, helping senior stakeholders make smarter commercial and risk-based decisions. If you enjoy getting beneath the numbers, spotting what’s changing and influencing what happens next, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.
How you’ll contribute
Lead and develop a team of two analysts, setting analytical priorities, supporting their development and embedding a culture of high-quality, insight-led decision-making.
Deliver deep portfolio insight across asset quality, customer behaviour, vintages, trends and emerging risks, identifying the key drivers behind portfolio performance.
Shape portfolio monitoring and management information, including macroeconomic and bureau-based analysis, ensuring senior stakeholders have a clear view of performance and risk.
Partner with senior stakeholders across Credit Risk, Finance, Commercial and Operations to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations and influence strategic decisions.
Champion analytical best practice, data controls and the effective use of data, analytics and technology across complex initiatives, ensuring insight is delivered in a controlled and sustainable way.
We’re looking for these essential skills
Experience leading and developing analysts, with the ability to set direction, manage priorities and maintain high analytical standards.
Strong understanding of portfolio performance and risk, with the ability to assess asset quality, customer behaviour, trends and changes in portfolio dynamics.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to present complex analysis clearly and influence senior decision-makers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex portfolio data and identify meaningful trends, drivers and emerging risks.
A strong data-driven mindset, with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities for deeper insight and ensure analytical outputs are accurate, controlled and fit for purpose.
It’s a plus if you also have these skills
Experience within consumer credit, financial services or another regulated environment.
Experience working with vintage analysis, portfolio monitoring, trend analysis or customer behaviour analytics.
Exposure to macroeconomic indicators and bureau data, and an understanding of how external factors can influence portfolio performance.
Experience producing management information, governance reporting or insight for senior risk and commercial stakeholders.
Experience using data, analytics and technology to automate or improve reporting and analytical processes.
