Job Description

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join our corporate tax team in London. This team supports a wide range of corporate clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services that help them navigate complexity and move forward with confidence. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of a broad portfolio of corporate tax compliance and advisory work, ensuring excellent delivery while building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser. You will also play an important role in mentoring junior colleagues, managing risk and financial performance, and contributing to the continued growth of the team through business development. While the role has a strong compliance focus, you will also have the opportunity to work with Partners and Directors on consultancy and advisory projects of varying size and complexity, giving you the chance to develop your experience more broadly.

Our corporate tax team sits within the wider Business Tax team, which includes a number of specialist teams covering other taxes. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across service lines to identify risks and opportunities for clients and deliver a joined-up, high-quality service. It is a great opportunity to be part of a team that is growing, ambitious and genuinely collaborative.

As a Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a broad portfolio of corporate tax compliance clients across a range of sectors and markets
  • Building strong, lasting client relationships and delivering an exceptional standard of service
  • Identifying growth opportunities across your client portfolio and working with account leads to progress them
  • Leading, supporting and developing team members, acting as a mentor and creating an environment where people can thrive
  • Contributing to business development activity for your clients, the team and the wider firm
  • Undertaking consultancy work and ad hoc advisory projects alongside core compliance responsibilities
  • Ensuring internal procedures are followed and that work reflects relevant professional and HMRC guidance

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) and/or tax adviser (CTA), or hold an international equivalent qualification
  • Bring significant corporate tax experience gained in practice and/or industry
  • Have strong corporate tax technical knowledge and a genuine commitment to continuing to develop your expertise
  • Combine strong analytical skills with a commercial approach, offering practical advice on complex issues
  • Be confident managing internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Have strong business development instincts and the appetite to help grow both client relationships and the wider business
  • Have strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple client relationships and deadlines with minimal supervision

Additional Information

As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include

  • Competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Pension contribution
  • Hybrid working model (role dependent)
  • Generous holiday package
  • Option to purchase additional holiday
  • Shared parental leave
  • Fully funded training towards professional qualifications

  • Eye care support

We are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients. At S&W we have a wide range of highly active employee resource groups and we’re delivering multiple diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the organisation. It is our commitment to provide a workplace where all colleagues, regardless of identity, background, or circumstance, feel respected as individuals and feel that they can achieve their full potential and work in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
