The Opportunity
Join our dynamic and growing legal team with a world-class analytics company. FICO’s solutions support smarter decisioning, fraud & risk management, marketing and customer management decisions for thousands of businesses worldwide. You’ll build strong relationship with internal and external customer, utilizing your legal expertise to provide practical advice while achieving business results.
What You’ll Contribute
Draft, review and negotiate a variety of agreements (master licensing agreements for SaaS / PaaS, software licensing agreements, global partner agreements, general procurement contracts) for assigned internal and external clients across EMEA typically in the banking, FS, automotive, Telco and Insurance sectors.
Review defined contract terms, limitation of liability, intellectual property indemnity, license grants and warranty, revising accordingly consistent with FICO policies and procedures.
Support sales/business teams on opportunities including support of the RFP process and contract terms requiring approval.
Work on special projects across privacy/data protection, litigation, employment, M&A and other general legal matters for the region.
Provide contract review coordination across businesses (product, services, finance) in support of clients.
Support wider Legal department for contract template revisions, contract interpretation and special projects, as requested.
Protect FICO from unnecessary contract liabilities, damages and penalties.
Identify red flag risk areas, working with business team to seek appropriate approvals.
A willingness to test and adopt AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of legal work.
What We’re Seeking
Qualified lawyer licensed to practice law and in good standing in any jurisdiction.
Experience in SaaS / PaaS / software licensing, preferably in a corporate legal department.
Strong analytical and contract formation, preparation, drafting, review, management and negotiation skills.
Experience of managing high value deal cycles from end to end, working opposite enterprise level clients and working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Experience supporting international or cross-border transactions, ideally within EMEA or other multi-jurisdictional environments.
Ability to identify key risk and policy issues in any transactional situation/opportunity.
Strong levels of customer service from a deal management perspective – can you help our software business achieve its goals whilst appropriately managing risk.
Basic understanding of software intellectual property law and practices.
