Senior Legal Counsel

We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to be a core part of GetGround's legal function, providing sharp, commercially minded legal advice across the business as we scale.

You'll be doing the legal work, advising on commercial contracts, product questions, regulatory matters, and everything in between. You'll be a trusted partner to teams across the business and a key part of how we manage legal risk day-to-day.

THE OPPORTUNITY
GetGround operates at the intersection of fintech, proptech and wealthtech. We have £2Bn+ in assets on platform, 30,000+ users across 70 countries, and a portfolio of regulated products spanning mortgages, property management, and investment tools.

As we continue to grow, our legal needs are growing with us. You'll play a central role in keeping the business legally sound, moving quickly, and operating with integrity. For a lawyer who wants to work on genuinely varied, interesting matters in a fast-paced environment, this is a strong opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Commercial and Contracts

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnership contracts, and customer terms

  • Advise business teams on contractual risk and help them make informed decisions quickly

  • Maintain and improve GetGround's contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms

  • Support the management of external counsel on matters requiring specialist input

Product and Regulatory

  • Provide legal input on new product features, customer journeys, and platform changes

  • Advise on FCA regulatory requirements as they apply to GetGround's products and services

  • Support compliance reviews of customer-facing content and regulated communications

  • Help track relevant regulatory developments and flag implications for the business

Corporate and General Legal

  • Support on corporate matters including fundraising, corporate governance, and company secretarial work

  • Advise on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance

  • Provide general legal support across the business on employment, IP, and operational matters

  • Help build scalable legal processes, templates, and training materials

ABOUT YOU

You're a UK qualified solicitor with around 4+ years PQE, ideally with a mix of private practice and some in-house exposure. You bring:

  • Strong commercial legal skills, with experience drafting and negotiating contracts in a fast-paced environment

  • A good understanding of FCA regulation and how it applies to fintech or financial services products

  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to pick up new areas of law quickly

  • A commercial mindset; you give practical advice, not just legal analysis

  • The confidence to work autonomously and manage your own workload without close supervision

  • Clear, concise communication skills, written and verbal

  • A collaborative approach and genuine interest in the business, not just the legal matters

Highly desirable:

  • Experience with property, mortgage, or investment products

  • In-house experience at a fast-growing fintech

  • Exposure to data protection, GDPR, or privacy work

We know that great candidates don't always match every point on a job description. If this role excites you and you meet most of the criteria, we'd encourage you to apply anyway.

Boasting one of the most recognized fintech ecosystems in Europe, attracting billions in investments each year, London's success has made it a go-to destination for startups looking to make their mark. Top U.K. companies like Hoptin, Moneybox and Marshmallow have already made the city their base — yet fintech is just the beginning. From healthtech to renewable energy to cybersecurity and beyond, the city's startups are breaking new ground across a range of industries.
