About Lendable

Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start:

  • One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people

  • Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK

  • Profitable since 2017

  • Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs

  • Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot)

So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days.

We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes.

Join us if you want to
  1. Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1

  2. Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo

  3. Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who enjoys scripting, AI automation, systems integration, and network support. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT systems and integrations that are secure, scalable, and fit for purpose across the organisation.

You’ll bring strong technical depth across core business systems such as Google Workspace, Mobile Device Management (MDM), identity and access management, and emerging AI and automation tooling. You’ll act as a senior point of contact for IT, helping to improve how we manage access, devices, and operational workflows while ensuring our environment remains reliable, effective, and aligned with best practice.

As a key member of the team, you’ll work closely with IT Support, Platform Engineering, and InfoSec to keep our systems running smoothly and to deliver improvements that raise the bar on automation, security, and user experience. We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical judgment with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset, and who can collaborate effectively, prioritise well, and solve complex problems with confidence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of core IT systems including identity and access management, device management, network services, and secure external partner solutions, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and secure.

  • Architect, build and maintain scripts, automations, and integrations between SaaS platforms and internal services to reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, and create a better end-user experience.

  • Support InfoSec and compliance across the IT estate by contributing to incident response, resolving complex technical issues, and partnering on systems, access, and infrastructure improvement projects.

  • Ability to produce and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and operational guides so systems are supportable, repeatable, and easy to manage at scale.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver high-quality technical implementations, drive improvements, and ensure solutions meet business and security requirements.

  • Provide hands-on support for day-to-day IT operations team, including troubleshooting, ticket and maintenance workflows, onboarding and offboarding, hardware lifecycle management, and office technology support where needed.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering, endpoint management, or a similar hands-on technical role, with strong experience across scripting, automation, and systems administration.

  • Strong experience managing MDM and endpoint platforms across a MacOS first fleet, in addition to Windows and Linux environments. The ability to automate workflows and configuration and deployment through scripting with any shell language, python, and swift dialogue.

  • Hands-on experience running Okta and our VPN / secure remote access as code. Group rules, sign-on policies, IdP routing, SCIM provisioning, and VPN access policies, all defined in Infrastructure-as-Code and shipped via PR review.

  • Proven experience implementing, maintaining, and improving IT systems, SaaS integrations, and network-connected services in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Okta Workflows, or comparable low-code orchestration. Event-driven flows hitting SaaS APIs, with error handling and idempotency.

  • A pragmatic, service-minded approach with strong user empathy and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.

Nice to haves

  • FCA-regulated environment experience. Change management, audit evidence, access reviews, and the security posture (UK GDPR / DPA) we operate day-to-day.

  • Administering enterprise AI tooling. Claude Enterprise, Cursor, Codex, or similar: SSO setup, data handling controls, domain capture flows.

  • Hardware and on-prem support. Local compute and storage, RAID, SAS, server hardware where we still have it.

Interview process

  • A quick phone call with one of the talent team

  • A short coding exercise to complete in your own time

  • Technical Interview & Meet the team you work with daily

  • Culture Interview
