A Day in the LifeTake on a pivotal role as a Senior HR Manager and make a lasting impact across our Diabetes business teams. As a key HR Business Partner, you will play an essential role in enhancing employee experiences and driving business success in a dynamic, results-oriented environment. Partnering closely with business leaders and the broader HR function, you will lead transformative initiatives across talent acquisition, cultural evolution, inclusion, performance and talent management, employee relations, total rewards, and organizational effectiveness. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute strategically during a defining moment for Medtronic’s Diabetes business, as it prepares for separation into a standalone company—offering the chance to shape a new future marked by agility, innovation, and meaningful impact on patient care.
Reporting to the the MiniMed CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer), you will provide strategic partnership and hands-on HR support to the commercial organization across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Based in Watford, UK, you will manage a remote sub-regional team while directly supporting senior business leaders and employees within your region. This is an individual contributor role within a highly collaborative, global environment. As part of the Diabetes Operating Unit, you will work in a business committed to improving the lives of people with diabetes through innovative solutions that enhance freedom, health, and quality of life—making this a unique opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven transformation.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. Our HR team will play a pivotal role in the journey to become a standalone company.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Organization, Talent, and Culture Planning: Collaborate with Business Leaders across the region to provide high-impact HR solutions.  Support critical HR processes, including workforce planning, compensation reviews, performance management partnership with the HR COEs.  Communicate and implement proactive strategies pertaining to employee retention and engagement, succession planning in support of strategic objectives. Work with leaders to foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
  • Change Management/Organization Effectiveness: Support organizational change initiatives and provide guidance on change management process.
  • Talent and Leadership Development: Partners with Global Talent Development on strategies to develop and enhance business and technical capabilities for the employee population to include knowledge enhancement, career and leadership development.
  • Talent Acquisition: Support Leaders and the Talent Acquisition COE to identify and staff critical roles, build organization capabilities, and bench strength.
  • Employee Relations & Communications: Partner with the Employee Relations COE and leaders to anticipate, identify and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Inclusion, Diversity, Equity: Champion ID&E efforts to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce. Partner with HR and leadership to develop and implement ID&E initiatives.
  • HR Data Analytics: Detect organizational trends and alert HR partners to enable appropriate actions. Use HR data to measure progress and provide insights for data-driven decision-making. Provide regular updates to stakeholders to communicate program progress and outcomes.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing remote teams
  • Previous experience in multinational matrixed environment
  • Proven positive track record of working with business leaders
  • Ability to analyse complex data and drive fact-based decision making 
  • Strong coaching, consulting and influencing skills

 
The ideal candidate holds an MBA or related business degree and has a proven record of implementing HR programs in fast-paced, global environments. Experience in the medical device, technology, healthcare, or consumer products industries, as well as with commercial and R&D teams, is a plus. They demonstrate strong expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness, and excel at building partnerships across global, matrixed organizations. Flexible and adaptable, the candidate effectively manages complex stakeholders and is proficient in HRIS systems, particularly Workday.
