Purpose of Role

Join The Crown Estate’s Group Finance team in a key leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, statutory accounts and financial controls across the organisation. This role plays an important part in ensuring robust financial governance, supporting informed decision-making and contributing to the finance transformation project, continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting standards.

Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities

At The Crown Estate, we create lasting and shared value for the country while managing a diverse portfolio of land, property and assets. As Senior Group Reporting Manager, you will help maintain the integrity and quality of our financial reporting, supporting both current operations and future transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation of Group financial statements and supporting the Annual Report and Accounts process.

  • Overseeing statutory accounts preparation, audit and filing activities for subsidiaries and managed joint ventures.

  • Providing oversight of financial controls, ensuring they remain effective, well-documented and aligned to business needs.

  • Offering technical accounting expertise, including IFRS interpretation, accounting judgements and audit support.

  • Leading balance sheet reporting, reconciliations and financial control activities.

  • Supporting improvements to reporting processes, systems and finance operations.

  • Partnering with auditors, senior stakeholders and colleagues across Finance and the wider business.

  • Leading and developing a small team while helping build capability and consistent standards across the Finance function.

  • Contributing to finance transformation projects and other priority reporting initiatives.

Most Important Skills Based Requirements
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.

  • Strong experience preparing and reviewing Group financial statements and statutory accounts within a complex organisation or through listed-company audit and advisory work.

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and experience applying accounting standards and professional judgement to complex transactions.

  • Experience managing financial reporting processes, audits and financial controls.

  • Ability to lead, develop and support finance professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience improving financial reporting processes, controls or finance operations.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality.
