Who We Are

FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world’s top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations.

At FTI Consulting, you’ll work side-by side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you’ll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you.

Are you ready to make your impact?

About The Role

You will serve as a senior lead on some of the most exciting TMT communications mandates in the London market – working with a diverse range of clients, from listed technology and telecoms companies to rapidly growing private firms backed by prominent investors. Our TMT team offers comprehensive strategic communications counsel: managing corporate reputation and positioning, developing campaigns and narrative strategies, managing crises and issues, and fostering thought leadership.

Our work is intentionally diverse and exciting. One week, you could be creating a campaign that changes how a client is viewed on a complex issue, connecting with policymakers, communities, and the public through compelling, data-driven stories and earned media. Next, you might be managing a hot-button issue just about to unfold or helping a board find their voice on a topic that truly matters to their sector. It’s a role that rewards those who can spot the idea others might overlook and deliver it exactly where it makes a difference.

This is a senior position with ownership of client relationships. Though it doesn't involve managing a dedicated team of your own, you'll help guide the account teams you work with, maintain trusted adviser relationships with clients, and actively contribute to growing the practice.

Our London TMT team is a proud leader in its field, currently advising over 40 clients across sectors; from space exploration and digital transformation to cutting-edge technological solutions and beyond, all with a diverse array of needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Client leadership. You'll confidently manage sophisticated communication programmes, becoming the go-to person clients trust when it truly counts. That includes shaping corporate reputation and narrative, handling sensitive or contentious issues with care, and providing trusted advice to help clients find their authentic voice and communicate sincerely, even in tough situations.

  • Campaign leadership. You'll lead corporate communications campaigns, finding the angles others might overlook. You'll ground your strategies in research, data, and insights, ensuring your messages reach the people who matter most, whether they are policymakers, journalists, community members or the wider public. Your work will be instrumental in helping organisations shape opinions and foster reputations that last.

  • Account health and commercial growth. You'll manage accounts well - spotting and resolving issues related to budget, scope, and deliverables early on, turning challenges into opportunities. You'll nurture current relationships and build new ones, offering creative ideas to both existing and potential clients. Business development is a part of the role, not just an extra task.

  • AI-enabled advice and delivery. You'll bring a point of view on how AI and digital tools sharpen our work, from research and drafting to analysis, and pitch AI-enabled ideas to clients that drive genuine insight, efficiency and value. You'll help build that capability in the teams around you, choosing the right tools and setting realistic expectations about how they're adopted.

  • Leading teams. You'll be a leader on the account teams you work across, setting the standard for the work, giving actionable feedback, sharing your experience to help colleagues and clients work through the hard problems, and building strong partnerships across the practice.

  • Building the firm. You'll lead and take part in pitches and proposals, spot opportunities to introduce FTI's wider services to clients, and represent the firm's values and standards, including a genuine commitment to the letter and the spirit of our code of conduct.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Senior-level communications experience, typically 7+ years, gained in an organisation with a strong TMT focus or in a senior in-house role at a TMT business. What matters most is that you've independently led significant communications mandates.

  • A strong track record in corporate communications: reputation and positioning, campaigns and narrative strategy, and counsel on sensitive or contested issues that draw media, policy or public attention.

  • A creative instinct for narrative and campaigns: the ability to find a fresh angle, build it on solid research and data, and turn it into coverage and influence.

  • Some demonstrated success in business development: winning, growing and retaining client relationships.

  • The judgement to advise senior stakeholders, up to and including boards and executive teams, and the presence to hold the room and stay calm when the stakes are high.

  • Excellent writing and the ability to make a sharp, credible case, whether in a boardroom or a pitch.

  • A practical, curious view on how AI is changing communications work, and a willingness to put it to use.

  • A collaborative approach and proven experience of working in an integrated way with multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience across several TMT sub-sectors, for example software, telecoms, fintech, media, consumer tech or deep tech.

  • Experience working across regulatory, media and public audiences on politically or socially sensitive issues.

  • Experience of transaction communications: IPOs, divestments, M&A, fundraises.

  • A feel for how the media and information landscape is shifting.

  • An established network across the TMT, investor and media community, or a clearly demonstrated ability to build one.
