The Senior Director, Software Content supports overall content and compliance strategies and regulations for the tax.com division.
The ideal candidate will have analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in VAT and European indirect taxes. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results:

Culture/Team:

  • Create a positive team member experience.
  • Training and managing staff: Hiring, onboarding, and training a team of compliance associates.

Tasks:

  • Establishing compliance procedures: Ensuring that content produced by an organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Developing strategies: Creating plans to monitor and review content, and to ensure that the organization is compliant with all regulations.
  • Collaborating with other departments: Working with other departments, such as content, product, and engineering, to achieve shared goals.
  • Evaluating market trends: Following proposed legislation and evaluating market trends to anticipate changes and ensure compliance.
  • Creating reports: Providing reports to upper management on compliance updates
  • Partnering with other teams: Working with other teams, such as legal, risk, operations, and technology, to prevent and detect non-compliance.
  • Conducting risk assessments: Identifying and mitigating compliance risks through regular risk assessments
  • Developing policies and procedures: Developing, updating, and communicating compliance policies and procedures
  • Staying abreast of relevant changes to rules/regulations and other industry news including regulatory findings.

Skills:

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive.
  • Highly motivated, strong attention to detail, team oriented, organized.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, and capability to handle multiple projects at one time.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced degree (e.g. JD, MBA) a plus
  • 10+ Years experience in content & compliance management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Pro is plus.
