The Director, Software Content supports content and compliance strategies and regulations for the tax.com division. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent leadership abilities. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in VAT and European indirect taxes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish compliance procedures and requirements to ensure content adheres to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop strategies for sourcing, monitoring, and reviewing content to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as content, product, and engineering, to achieve shared goals.
  • Stay informed on proposed legislation and market trends to anticipate changes and ensure timely notification of updates to a development team.
  • Assist with providing VAT compliance requirements to development.
  • Partner with legal, risk, operations, and technology teams to detect and prevent non-compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Develop, update, and communicate compliance policies and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry developments.

  • Expertise in compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks, and typologies.
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with a flexible, innovative, and adaptive mindset.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA) is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in VAT content & compliance management.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage ambiguity, and work on multiple assignments.
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet research.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Pro is a plus.
