You’ll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you.

Are you ready to make your impact?

About The Role

We work with corporations, governments and law firms to meet legal, regulatory and investigative demands by leveraging our skills to enable our clients to more confidently govern, secure, find, analyse and rapidly understand their data in the context of compliance and risk.

We are looking for dedicated and experienced professionals to join our growing Digital Forensics & Investigations team in London. FTI Consulting advises clients in confidential data disputes, regulatory investigations, litigations and all types of evidence-driven technology challenges, often in alignment with regulator expectations and disclosure requirements. This role is based in our London team as part of our EMEA-wide and global network of professionals.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Director within FTI’s Digital Forensics & Investigations practice, you will take a leading role in shaping and delivering complex data-driven client engagements, acting as a trusted advisor and expert to clients and external counsel. You will combine deep technical expertise with sound strategic judgement to deliver clarity in challenging, high-stakes matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients and law firms in a range of data-driven engagements within the framework of legal action or internal investigations.

  • Leading client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical and ethical standards.

  • Supporting regulatory investigations by interpreting and meeting the expectations of UK and international authorities.

  • Acting as an expert witness — drafting and peer reviewing formal statements, preparing expert reports and providing oral evidence in court or arbitration.

  • Leading complex digital forensic investigations across a broad range of devices, data systems and cloud environments.

  • Directing mobile device forensic analysis, including advanced extraction, decryption, and interpretation of app and messaging data.

  • Conducting forensic imaging, recovery and analysis in line with industry best practice.

  • Developing methodologies for cloud and hybrid ecosystems, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure, and other SaaS or collaboration platforms.

  • Integrating automation, analytics, and AI-assisted techniques to enhance accuracy, speed and defensibility.

  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity and integrity.

  • Collaborating across FTI’s EMEA and global networks to share knowledge, develop tools and contribute to cross-disciplinary innovation.

  • Travelling as required to perform work at client premises in the UK and internationally, sometimes at short notice.

How You’ll Grow

We are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities. We aim to promote continuous learning and individual skills development through on-the-job learning, self-guided professional development courses and certifications. You’ll be assigned a dedicated coach to mentor, guide and support you through regular coaching sessions and serve as an advocate for your professional growth.

As you progress through your career at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to ensure you are prepared and empowered to take on your next role.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • Experience conducting digital forensic investigations within consulting, law enforcement or corporate environments.

  • Drafting and peer review of digital forensics reports and expert reports for legal proceedings.

  • Experience of regulatory investigations, with a sound understanding of regulator expectations, evidential requirements and disclosure processes.

  • Expertise in mobile device forensics, including logical and physical extractions, artefact interpretation, and encrypted data handling.

  • Strong knowledge of forensic tools and methodologies (e.g. EnCase, X-Ways, Nuix, Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, Oxygen, FTK).

  • Ability to present technical findings clearly to legal and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience leading forensic collections both on-site and remotely across the UK and internationally.

  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and resilience in high-pressure environments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Digital Forensics or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud and SaaS forensics, including collection and analysis of collaboration and audit artefacts.

  • Competence with scripting or automation languages (e.g. PowerShell, Python, SQL) for forensic workflow optimisation.

  • Exposure to AI and machine learning applications in forensic and eDiscovery contexts (e.g. triage, clustering, anomaly detection, generative summarisation).

  • Experience integrating forensic outputs within wider eDiscovery, incident response or regulatory frameworks.

  • Professional certifications such as EnCE, GASF, GCFA, CISSP, RCA, or equivalent.
