This role is based in our 240 Blackfriars, London office. 

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our Windows-based infrastructure running in AWS. This role is focused on operational excellence, security, automation, and developer enablement.

You’ll work closely with product engineering teams to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and easy to deploy, while driving improvements in CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure automation.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and operate Windows Server environments in AWS (EC2), ensuring high availability and performance
• Own patching, vulnerability management, and system hardening processes across Windows workloads
• Monitor and respond to security events, working closely with security teams to remediate risks
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support consistent, reliable application deployments
• Implement and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools
• Develop automation using PowerShell and scripting to reduce manual operational overhead
• Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure system health
• Partner with product engineering teams to troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues
• Support releases and ensure smooth deployment processes across environments
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as an escalation point for production incidents
• Lead or contribute to incident response and post-mortems, driving long-term improvements

• Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation
• CI/CD: GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar

Microsoft / Windows

• Windows Server administration
• MS SQL Server (standalone and AWS RDS)
• Active Directory / identity integration
• IIS and .NET application hosting
• PowerShell scripting and automation

Observability & Operations

• Monitoring and alerting platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Logging and incident response tooling

What We’re Looking For

• Extensive experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Systems Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments
• Proven experience managing Windows Server infrastructure (preferably in AWS)
• Experience with patching, vulnerability remediation, and security event handling
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform strongly preferred)
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting production systems
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams and support production workloads

Nice to Have

• Experience with Active Directory integration in AWS (Managed AD, AD Connector)
• Familiarity with Sitecore CMS, other .NET applications and IIS in production
• Experience with AWS Systems Manager (SSM) for patching and automation
• Exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with Datadog or OpenTelemetry-based observability
• Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation
