Who We Are

adMarketplace is the largest global marketplace for Native Search advertising. For over 25 years, we’ve connected brands with consumers at the moment they express commercial intent beyond legacy search engines.
Today, our Native Search solutions are exclusively integrated across next-generation platforms where discovery happens, including web browsers, Buy Now Pay Later apps, and AI chat surfaces. Powered by vector search technology, our platform delivers relevant text and product ads that match consumers with the brands, products, and offers they’re actively seeking.
Our award-winning culture is grounded in the principles of Curiosity, Collaboration, Creative Conflict, Commitment, and Competitiveness – our 5Cs. These values drive us to turn complexity into clarity and create measurable value for consumers, advertisers, and publishers alike.

The Role

As adMarketplace’s first Demand Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of the Demand team — owning the end-to-end technical relationship with our largest demand partners. This is a net-new function: you will define how solutions engineering operates at AMP, building the playbook from the ground up.

You’ll sit at the intersection of Partnerships, Product, and Engineering. The Account team owns the customer relationship and business outcome; Product owns what gets built and when; you own the technical ‘how’ — discovery, architecture, integrations, feasibility, POCs, and the documentation that makes complex technical solutions legible to both clients and internal stakeholders.

This role reports into the VP, Strategic Partnerships and operates in a matrix across Partnerships, Product, and Engineering. You will have a dotted line into Product, with standing inclusion in product reviews, roadmap discussions, and internal communications.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Discovery & Architecture

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise clients to gather, document, and make recommendations on prioritization based on business impact (ROI)

  • Outline scope integration requirements and dependencies

  • Design client-specific solution architectures, assess technical feasibility, and produce detailed integration specifications.

  • Own client-specific POC design and execution — translating partner requirements into testable, scoped prototypes.

  • Evaluate Build vs. Configure tradeoffs and make recommendations to Partnerships and Product; escalate decisions where required.

  • Validate data accuracy and identify discrepancies between internal and partner-reported data sets, building the analytical case for billing and measurement decisions.

Partner Integration & Onboarding

  • Own the technical onboarding experience for new demand integrations — including product and asset feed setup, attribution API integration, bid automation configuration, and credential provisioning.

  • Provide ongoing technical implementation guidance and serve as the primary escalation point for client-side technical issues.

  • Produce and maintain client-specific technical documentation: specs, API references, integration guides, and open-question logs.

  • Monitor partner technical channels (e.g., Slack, email) for escalations and route them internally with appropriate urgency.

  • Support integration of oRTB-based third-party demand partners and new vertical feed categories — including ticketing, travel, and other verticals

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Participate in external technical sessions with enterprise partners alongside the Account team, serving as the primary technical voice in client-facing meetings.

  • Partner closely with the Account team (relationship & business outcomes), Product (roadmap & prioritization), and Supply-side Solutions Engineer to drive integrated solutions.

  • Translate client-specific technical requirements into clear, actionable inputs for internal engineering and product teams.

  • Represent the technical voice of the partner in internal reviews, launch planning, and go-to-market readiness assessments.

  • Support feature adoption measurement and client-specific product training and enablement alongside Partnerships.

Program & Initiative Support

  • Maintain structured tracking of open technical workstreams across active partner initiatives, surfacing risks and dependencies to leadership.

  • Coordinate publisher feasibility assessments for partner-driven supply requirements in partnership with Supply Solutions Engineer.

  • Contribute to the Account team’s operating rhythm — this is a founding function and you’ll help define the process.

  • Support billing methodology discussions by translating technical attribution data into clear, defensible commercial inputs for Partnerships and Finance.

Qualifications
  • 4–7+ years in a solutions engineering, technical partnerships, or integration engineering role, ideally within ad tech, retail media, or programmatic advertising.

  • Hands-on experience with oRTB, APIs (REST/JSON), product feed management, event tracking, and attribution infrastructure — experience across all of these is preferred over general programmatic breadth.

  • Strong technical documentation skills — you can write a spec, an integration guide, and an exec summary for the same project and make each one land.

  • Proven ability to conduct client-facing technical discovery and translate business requirements into engineering-ready requirements.

  • SQL proficiency required — you will be working with large data sets and need to move quickly without depending on Engineering for basic queries.

  • Experience conducting client-facing technical sessions with enterprise partners, including requirement gathering, live troubleshooting, and presenting technical findings to mixed technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working within a RACI-structured, cross-functional environment alongside Account, Product and Engineering teams.

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity: this role is new and you’ll be expected to build the process, not just follow it.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with retail media ecosystems and advertiser measurement workflows — attribution modeling, ROAS optimization, smart bidding, and data pipeline infrastructure — is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; technical field preferred.

*Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000 + Bonus & Equity
