As Senior Analyst, you’ll be a key member of the Customer Insight team, working closely with the Lead Analyst and wider insight specialists to turn data into clear, commercial recommendations. You’ll use our customer and transactional data, advanced analytics and our Azure data platform to support analytical projects, build data products and help teams understand performance, opportunity and stretch. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about data, curious in their approach and confident building relationships across M&S.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Support analytics projects that deliver accurate, actionable insight for the Food business in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Use customer and transactional data to help explain performance, see opportunities and support better customer-led decisions.
  • Maintain and support core analytical benchmarks and reporting, including reports that use Power BI.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques, such as regression and clustering, to deliver robust commercial analysis.
  • Create clear, visual and engaging insight outputs, with a focus on automation and self-serve where it makes valuable contributions.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Strong statistical and analytical background, with experience working with large datasets and a range of models.
  • Confident using SQL, with experience in Python, R or similar programming and statistical tools preferred.
  • Naturally curious and data-driven, with the confidence to explore business problems and spot new opportunities.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to turn analysis into clear insight for different audiences.
  • Organised, proactive and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple projects and build strong partner relationships.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation.
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more.
  • Discretionary bonus schemes linked to your performance and ours.
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future.
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one.
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal.
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave.
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services.
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you.
