The position does not require a legal qualification, but it does require a strong understanding and experience of commercial contracting, as well as the ability to work closely with lawyers, and interface with TJX’s procurement team and business stakeholders at all levels of the business, as part of a dynamic, collaborative and highly regarded legal team.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of commercial contracts within a leading multinational retailer, and the chance to contribute to the ongoing evolution of legal operations and technology adoption within the Legal Department.

This position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Commercial Legal in Europe.

    • Statements of work (SOWs) and orders under existing contractual frameworks
    • Extension, variation, and termination letters
  • Ensure transactions align with pre-agreed contractual frameworks and risk parameters
  • Identify and escalate issues appropriately where terms deviate from agreed positions or present risk
  • Liaise with procurement and business stakeholders to obtain information, clarify requirements, and facilitate efficient contract delivery
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, templates and ways of working
  • Support the use of legal technology including AI tools

·       Manage external counsel in European jurisdictions as required

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Solid understanding of commercial procurement contracts and contracting processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of work efficiently in a fast-paced in-house environment

  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • High level of professional integrity and discretion
  • You must have the legal right to work in the country you are applying to
