Role summary

This role sits at the centre of how CMS communicates its expertise, priorities and market position to clients and the wider market. Working across CMS UK and with international colleagues, you’ll lead and coordinate content that supports key client relationships, showcases the firm’s work and brings together expertise across sectors, practices and jurisdictions.

It’s a senior, strategically important role for someone who understands how content functions within a large international law firm and is comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders on complex, high‑value initiatives.

What you’ll do

You’ll work on a broad range of content activity, including:

  • Leading the development and delivery of high‑quality content across CMS UK and international offices, supporting firmwide priorities as well as sector and practice group initiatives.
  • Working with partners, lawyers and business development teams to shape thought leadership programmes, client‑facing campaigns and strategic content plans.
  • Overseeing the creation and coordination of a wide range of content, including reports, articles, campaign assets, client materials, website content and profile‑raising initiatives.
  • Helping lawyers identify opportunities to connect services, sectors and expertise through joined‑up, commercially focused content that supports stronger client conversations.
  • Managing content workflows from briefing through to publication, ensuring work is delivered on time and aligned with CMS brand and messaging standards.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across marketing, digital, communications and design teams to ensure content is effectively distributed and reused across platforms and regions.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on content structure, messaging, tone and audience engagement.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of CMS’s content approach, including improving processes, governance, performance measurement and knowledge‑sharing across teams.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in a senior content role within a large international law firm or comparable professional services environment.
  • Experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder content programmes across different audiences, channels and jurisdictions.
  • A strong understanding of how content supports client relationships, profile‑raising and business development in professional services.
  • The confidence and judgement to work closely with senior partners and business leaders.
  • Experience overseeing thought leadership and content that supports sector, practice group and client development objectives.
  • Strong organisation and editorial judgement, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, consistency and accuracy.
  • Comfort working collaboratively in a fast‑paced, international environment.
  • Experience with digital content platforms, campaign delivery or content governance processes would be beneficial.

What we offer

  • Ongoing training and development to support your professional goals.
  • The opportunity to work closely with colleagues across CMS UK and international offices.
  • An inclusive working environment where different perspectives are valued.
