Job Description

Responsibilities:  

  • Client Facing: Client relationship building at all stages of the sales and production process. This includes regular correspondence for claim-related information and liaising directly with HMRC on their behalf. 
  • Subject Matter Expert: Strong technical understanding within the technology and software industry, with working knowledge of the R&D tax space. 
  • Financial R&D Knowledge: You will have an understanding of the financial aspects of the claim process. Including, in depth knowledge of the costing categories, understanding of the benefits available and how these are processed within the relevant tax documentation, financial data analysis skills.  
  • Report and Claim Management: Prepare and review structured claim reports, create R&D project descriptions and justifications, and adjust claims based on determined tax liability. 
  • Aware and Informed: Well-informed of current affairs in the technology and software markets, industry, competition, or changes in R&D tax law. 

 

Qualifications

Experience and Requirements: 

  • 2 years within the R&D tax space. 
  • A background in Technology/ Software. 
  • A strong foundational knowledge in claim financials/calculations. 

Skills and Personal Qualities: 

  • Dependable: You align with client needs, adhere to reporting methodology, and collaborate among the IT team members on projects and rationales. 
  • Resourceful: Know where to look for information, whether internally, on the client side, or in R&D tax law itself. 
  • Able to see the Bigger Picture: Can look beyond numerical standing and make deductions on a broader scale, whether to identify risk or potential commercial opportunities.
