What you’ll do 

  • Own the Financial Narrative: Manage revenue recognition, reporting, and forecasting, ensuring compliance with WPP policies and IFRS, working closely with the CFO on budgeting and planning.
  • Champion Compliance & Control: Oversee SOX compliance and manage WIP, ensuring timely billing and accurate revenue recognition. Review and resolve AR queries, and manage credit notes, reversals, and write-offs.
  • Lead & Analyse: Chair weekly revenue meetings with Client Services, identifying risks and opportunities. Analyse revenue, profitability, and utilisation, preparing insightful reports to inform decision-making.
  • Support & Collaborate: Support Inter-Office Agreements, client proposals, and RFPs. Work with account teams on contract compliance, creating crib sheets and delivering training. Contribute to month-end processes, including reconciliations across Maconomy, Sugar, and Cartesis.
  • Lead & Develop: Line manage, mentor, and develop Finance Assistants, delivering financial inductions for new Client Service starters. Support internal and external audits. Contribute to ad-hoc duties as required.

What you’ll need 

  • Qualified & Experienced: ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified with strong finance systems experience (ideally Maconomy), advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of IFRS 15 and SOX controls. Experience within an agency environment is highly desirable.
  • Commercially Astute: Strong P&L and Balance Sheet knowledge, proven business partnering skills, and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Organised & Customer-Focused: Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
  • A Natural Leader: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a passion for developing others, and a desire to lead and inspire a team.
