The purpose of the role is to provide commercial, financial and accounting support to a product division of Samsung Electronics UK.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

Financial planning

  • Support the Divisions’ annual, quarterly and monthly financial planning processes

  • Provide the appropriate level of challenge to ensure that plans are robust, stretching and achievable

  • Prepare ad hoc analysis where necessary (e.g. scenario planning, sensitivity analysis)

  • Support the wider finance team with analysis as and when required for internal and external reporting

Driving financial performance

  • Work closely and collaborate with divisional management to drive financial performance and ensure that the Divisions’ financial objectives regarding sales, profitability, cash conversion and market share are delivered

  • Prepare valuable reporting and analysis

  • Collaborate with important channel partners and when necessary, negotiate meaningful contractual terms in commercial agreements with customers to ensure effective risk management and improve SEUK's return.

  • Identify areas for improvement in financial performance and foster business growth.

Commercial decision support

  • To develop, agree and implement the investment and management frameworks aligned to the divisional commercial objectives

  • Increase efficiency and enhance commercial results derived from sales deduction investment

  • Provide financial insight, analysis and appraisal as required to support

  • Day-to-day commercial decision making

Financial management and control

  • Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reviews, ensuring that balances are accurate and claimed by the customer in a timely fashion and in line with internal aging KPIs.

  • Ensure that these costs are completely and accurately recorded, correctly classified, that spend is appropriately justified and within budget

  • Provide guidance on the accounting for more complex customer deals

People Manager responsibly

  • Be responsible for one direct report

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • FMCG background required.

  • Experience within technology sector and a fast paced sales environment needed

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), with proven experience in industry

  • Up to date knowledge of international accounting standards.

  • Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors

  • Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP).

  • Ability to implement change process to streamline and make existing processes more efficient.

  • Strong commercial competence.

The interview process

  • 1st stage with hiring manager and CFM

  • 2nd stage with Commercial Finance Director and hiring manager – presentation may be required
