Purpose of the Role

The primary role of the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner is to partner with Client and Practice Leads, Service Line Leadership (particularly Operations and HR) and the Service Line Commercial Finance Leads to add value and insight, improve profitability and cash flow and minimise business risk.

Key Responsibilities

This role has responsibility for 3 core business areas across CXM UK, partnering with the relevant management teams, liaising across UK-wide delivery areas, and owning the forecast inputs. The role will work with the Central FP&A Team to ensure budgets and forecasts are prepared to a high standard using the available business insight.

Service Line Forecasting and Performance  

  • Accountable for the forecasting for 3 Business Areas, working with the central FP&A team. Partner with the business to understand the strategic direction, goals and performance of the service line to ensure this is reflected in the budget and forecasts and Partner with FP&A to prepare the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts. 

Client Pitching, Profitability and Performance  

  • Supporting the business leads to win new business and proactively manage profitability at a client-by-client level. Client level forecasting, target setting and working capital management and ensure adequate plans to achieve are in place and partnering with Service Line Brand CEOs/client leads on key account commercials ensuring that they deliver to SL Growth & Margin targets.

Decision Support

  • Working with the business leads to make informed and data driven 
    decisions. Provide analysis, insight, advice and challenge to business to enable them to make financial, operational and strategic decisions.  

Stakeholder Interactions  

  • Representing Finance within the business, ensuring that the 
    appropriate specialist teams are involved in the client lifecycle as appropriate. Liaison with Client Teams as required, such as attending resource meetings and being ‘under the skin’ of clients.

Qualifications + Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a similar commercial finance role.

  • Strong experience in revenue reporting, commercial constructs and client negotiations.

  • Ability to see the high-level strategic view whilst also understanding the detail of processes & tasks at the bottom level.

  • Capability to confidently engage with senior stakeholders and instil commercial acumen within the team

  • Ability to align financial insights with business strategy and provide actionable recommendations

  • Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, complex and matrixed environment
