Senior Commercial Contract Manager

Purpose

Accountable for comprehensive commercial management of key customer accounts throughout the contract lifecycle. This includes overseeing commercial performance, managing contract changes, ensuring compliance, and driving revenue growth. The role requires collaboration across multiple business areas and direct engagement with customers and suppliers.

Accountabilities 

• Manages the end-to-end commercial performance of major contracts, in-life management to renewal/Extension or termination 
• Ensure all contractual obligations, deliverables, and key milestones are tracked, documented, and achieved 
• Draft, review, negotiate and manages contract terms to safeguard the organization’s commercial interests 
• Maintain accurate contract documentation, including conformance records, asset registers, and audit trails 
• Act as the key link between finance and commercial teams, ensuring alignment on pricing governance processes 
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends, competitor actions, and customer requirements to adapt contractual strategies accordingly 
• Collaborate with legal teams to ensure contracts comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies 
• Identify and mitigate potential risks through proactive contract management strategies 
• Implement risk management processes to track, assess, and mitigate contractual risks 
• Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance 
• Identify opportunities for contract variations or upselling, maximising the value of existing agreements 
• Evaluate and qualify commercial implications of customer-driven or internal changes to in-life contract 
• Lead on the periodic conforming of contracts to include all changes. Co-ordinate with the Arqiva legal team and external lawyers

Skills 

Data Analysis - Ability to manipulate and analyse data, and make informed decisions 
Commercial Management - Substantial Understanding of contract law, risk management, and commercial principles and best practices 
Contract Management - Strong experience with commercial contracts and contract negotiations 
Communication skills - collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical info and provide training or support 
Strong Stakeholder Management - Ability to identify and manage stakeholder relationships, working cross functionally and maintaining communications with other stakeholders, building effective and collaborative relationships 
• Substantial experience in managing complex commercial and contractual models 
• Effective negotiation skills, with experience engaging at all organizational levels 
• Ability to draft contractual documents, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies 
• Commercial awareness with the ability to drive value and resolve challenging issues 
Risk Management & QA - Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks, and implement quality control processes 
• Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
Relationship Management- Ability to foster strong relationships internally as well as externally (and network) with external vendors, suppliers, industry peers, etc 
• Commercially astute with the ability to assess the financial and business impact of decisions and exercise sound judgement 
Decision Making- Applies sound judgment to resolve complex issues, balance competing priorities and drive effective outcomes in a fast paced environment 
Negotiation skills - Demonstrate strong negotiating skills to influence outcomes, resolve complex issues and secure mutually beneficial agreements with customers and stakeholder

Knowledge & Experience 

• Substantial Experience in structuring and managing highly complex commercial models and contracts 
• Substantial experience in commercial management, contract management or a related field 
• In-depth understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements
