Salary: Up to £56,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy input as part of the multidisciplinary team, conducting medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
  • Optimise medicines use through evidence-based interventions, ensuring the safe and effective management of long-term and acute conditions.
  • Support prescribing decisions through clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and formulary guidance.
  • Lead on implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, ensuring prescribing is cost-effective, safe, and aligned with national/local guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development and review of clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies.
  • Monitor and report on medicines usage, compliance, and safety incidents, participating in root cause analysis and quality improvement.

    Applicants should meet the following criteria:

    • GPhC-registered Pharmacist.
    • Significant post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a hospital setting.
    • Strong clinical knowledge and experience in medicines optimisation.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
    • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff.
    • Must have BOPA Passport and Clinical Pharmacy Diploma.
