The Role – Senior CDM Principal Designer/CDM Advisor

If you’re an experienced CDM Principal Designer/CDM Advisor who’s ready to go beyond box‑ticking, PIB Risk Management is where you can genuinely shape safer, smarter projects. Join a specialist team that’s trusted by clients, supported by technical experts and empowered to challenge, influence and improve from day one.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as Senior CDM Principal Designer/CDM Adviser across varied projects, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and industry best practice.

  • Review and influence designs early, assessing foreseeable health and safety risks, documentation (F10, PCI, CPP, RAMS) and leading structured design risk reviews.

  • Conduct site-based inspections and audits, producing clear, actionable reports and coordinating accurate, timely health and safety files at project completion.

  • Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and actively contribute to team meetings, workshops and knowledge-sharing to support colleagues’ development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant construction H&S/CDM experience with CMaPS or CMIOSH/CMIOSH (or actively working towards an equivalent status).

  • Proactive, credible and comfortable taking ownership, challenging assumptions and influencing teams to deliver genuinely safer projects (not just paperwork).

  • Strong communicator with the confidence to lead discussions with clients, designers and contractors, building trust and collaboration.

  • Practical, solutions-focused, able to balance compliance with commercial/programme realities, working autonomously while contributing positively to the wider team.

What You Will Get:

  • An attractive benefits package, including 26 days’ holiday, pension, access to healthcare support, and a range of other flexible benefits.

  • A collaborative and supportive working environment, where you can refine your industry knowledge and skills.
