This role ensures that data, reporting, ETL, data warehousing, semantic models, analytics, and AI-enabled insights are aligned to business objectives and deliver measurable value.
The role acts as a bridge between business problems and technology solutions, supporting the full lifecycle from business need, requirements definition, process mapping, use case design, functional specification, testing, deployment, and adoption. The role partners closely with technical teams to ensure that implemented data products, integrations, reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs are fit for purpose, governed, scalable, and usable by the business.

What we are looking for

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the business analysis lead for data, reporting, analytics, and platform use cases, ensuring business problems are clearly understood and translated into actionable delivery outcomes.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine, document, and validate business, functional, process, information, and system requirements for the global data repository and reporting platform.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, reporting specifications, data requirements, and operational deliverables.
  • Analyse current-state processes, data flows, reporting pain points, and operational gaps; define target-state improvements enabled by data, ETL, data warehousing, semantic models, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, Data Office, IT Data Foundation, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are feasible, prioritised, understood, and delivered in line with business value.
  • Support solution definition for new data products, reports, dashboards, integrations, and analytical capabilities, including trade-off analysis across scope, complexity, usability, data availability, and business impact.
  • Define and maintain business analysis documentation, including requirements documents, process maps, data definitions, reporting logic, user guides, test cases, training materials, and decision logs.
  • Coordinate validation, user acceptance testing, and business readiness activities to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements and are adopted effectively by end users.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, automation, user experience, and operational transparency through better processes, standards, and platform capabilities.
  • Ensure data governance, security, access control, and enterprise architecture considerations are reflected in business requirements and delivery decisions.
  • Provide ongoing support for enhancements, incidents, and change requests by clarifying requirements, assessing root causes, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring sustainable resolution.

Knowledge & Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Information Technology, Data, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Project management certification or demonstrable experience with structured delivery methodologies would be advantageous.
  • Relevant technology, data, analytics, or IT service management certification, such as ITIL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
  • Advanced experience as a Business Analyst within a technology services, data, analytics, reporting, or platform delivery environment.
  • Advanced experience in business requirements gathering, stakeholder facilitation, use case definition, process mapping, functional specification, and user acceptance testing.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting delivery of data products, reporting platforms, dashboards, data warehouse capabilities, ETL processes, semantic models, or governed analytics solutions.
  • Strong experience producing business analysis documentation, including requirements specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases, user guides, process documentation, and presentations.
  • Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams across business, data, IT, architecture, security, governance, and external partners.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel-based reporting, data quality concepts, data cataloguing, ServiceNow, SAP, or similar enterprise systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, security, privacy, and access control considerations in enterprise data environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its architectural building blocks, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows, Notebooks, semantic models, Power BI, data pipelines, governance, security, and workspace administration.
