Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager

Department: Sales

Reports To: Chief Sales Officer

Location: Remote first (2 days in Bristol per month)

Our customers are some of the biggest players in the travel sector, and our partners are key players in the FinTech world. Established in 2019, we are currently a growing team of 34, aiming to become the number one choice for B2B payments within the UK and EEA (European Economic Area).

We enable businesses to pay for their costs via virtual cards and bank transfers — everything from hotel bookings to flights, travel transfers to tour bookings, utilities to SaaS subscriptions — whatever it is, we've got you covered.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. As a Senior BDM, you will play a crucial role in identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans, building strong relationships with key decision-makers, and managing a complex sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans: Identify and target new business opportunities within specific market segments. Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Lead generation and qualification: Utilise various lead generation channels (e.g., networking, referrals, online research, industry events) to identify potential clients. Qualify leads and assess their needs and requirements.
  • Relationship building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations. Develop trust and credibility through consultative selling.
  • Sales presentations and proposals: Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations. Develop customised proposals that address client needs and provide value-driven solutions.
  • Negotiation and closing: Skilfully negotiate contracts and close deals. Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.
  • Pipeline management: Effectively manage a sales pipeline, track progress, and provide accurate sales forecasts. Utilise CRM systems to manage customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Market analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments. Identify new opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product development, customer success) to ensure client satisfaction and achieve business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record: 5+ years of successful experience in a B2B sales role working in either payments, travel, or ideally travel payments. Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed sales quotas.
  • Industry: Experience working in or with either the travel or payments industry.
  • Strong business acumen: Deep understanding of sales methodologies, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to build rapport, effectively communicate value propositions, and present to C-level executives.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to analyse customer needs, identify challenges, and propose effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented: Highly driven and ambitious with a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.
  • Proficiency in CRM software: Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage sales activities.
