Senior Business Consultant (Business Analyst): Job Description

The role

Phoenix Consulting is hiring a Senior Business Consultant (Business Analyst) to start immediately.

You will lead business analysis on Phoenix's programmes, from discovery through to delivery, and set the standard for analysis across our delivery teams. You will own discovery outcomes end to end and lead stakeholders to clear, agreed decisions.

About Phoenix Consulting. Founded in 2017, Phoenix is a UK-headquartered IT and digital consultancy of around 30 consultants across nine countries. We deliver Salesforce, ServiceNow and AWS programmes, with a dedicated Health & Life Sciences division.

Key responsibilities

  • Design workshop agendas and lead discovery across business entities and geographies, for both small businesses and enterprise organisations.

  • Own the outcomes of discovery: determine what is needed, drive stakeholders to provide it, and deliver complete process maps and requirements.

  • Model current and future-state processes, bringing your own expertise on what good looks like.

  • Write clear, testable requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Build and own the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), tracing every requirement from its objective through design, build, test and sign-off.

  • Work with architects and developers to shape solution options, and support testing, UAT and go-live.

  • Define KPIs and benefits, and keep decisions, risks and dependencies documented.

  • Contribute to Phoenix's methods and pre-sales, and mentor less experienced analysts.

Essential experience and skills

  • 8+ years in business analysis, with significant experience on Salesforce implementations.

  • Expert in requirements elicitation, process modelling, user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Proven competency creating and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices to manage scope, change impact and test coverage.

  • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Field Service, and how CRM integrates with ERP.

  • Highly confident leading workshops across different business entities and geographies, for both small businesses and enterprise organisations, and able to influence senior stakeholders.

  • A track record of owning discovery end to end and driving it to signed-off outcomes.

  • Agile and waterfall delivery experience, and excellent written and spoken English.

Desirable experience

  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA or another major ERP.

  • Experience in regulated industries.

  • Familiarity with AI and automation use cases in sales and service, such as Agentforce.

  • Change management and training experience.

  • Spanish language.

Personal qualities

  • You take ownership and stand behind your deliverables.

  • You are structured and precise, and you write clearly for any audience.

  • You test assumptions and stay calm when priorities compete.

  • You are friendly, approachable and great to work with, bringing warmth and good humour to the room.

  • You are generous with your knowledge and build lasting relationships.

Working at Phoenix

Phoenix is a distinctly supportive place to work. You will lead with confidence and never be on your own: our delivery leadership, solution architects and fellow consultants are always on hand to help and back you up. We share knowledge freely, celebrate success together and invest in each other's growth.
